lifer
Seems like there is some doubt over the availability of the ground for our visit to York...This is taken from the York local paper... YORK City Knights have been told they cannot play the first of their all-important Super 8s fixtures this Sunday at Bootham Crescent due to over-use of the pitch - as the community stadium "farce" strikes again. It is unclear where - or even if - the game, against Kingstone Press League One promotion rivals Doncaster, will now go ahead. The Press understands there are also issues over Super 8s games against Barrow on August 7 and London Skolars on September 4, with only the match against Hunslet on August 21 given the thumbs up. topchef
Why am I so surprised to learn of this? My two favourite sports are RL and Speedway and it seems that the governing bodies of both sports appear incapable of organising a fixture list that gives teams a regular weekly or fortnightly home fixture. It's no wonder attendances in both sports are dwindling. MoffGo Cumbria!
Michael Ashton
Surely the game should be switched to Craven Park but I bet it isn't. Alternatively York should sacrifice the game.
lifer
Probably switch it to the amateur teams pitch we played on last season.

Michael Ashton
We are thinking of staying in York for a couple of days so I think we should wait for definite confirmation from the Club and RFL.

alba
Come on Raiders, same as last week, "A" game required again, next two games could make all the difference.
Michael Ashton
Listening to Cresta after the match he said it will be very difficult to field the usual competitive team next Saturday so it seems that Barrow are against the change of date. I have every sympathy with York Club BUT as the problem is not of our making I don't think that RFL should insist on the match being played on Saturday. What is the reason that the match cannot be played on Sunday because York City FC are playing away on Saturday. Failing that why can the game not be switched to CP on Sunday even if we pay gate money to York.
alba
I think we have also had problems, especially cash flow, and I think we need to look at what is best for the raiders.
Michael Ashton
The update table is s follows: Toulouse 31 ponts 16 games Rochdale 27 16 Barrow 23 16 York 21 15 Doncaster 20 15 Hunslet 20 16 Keighley 18 16 Skolars 16 16 All teams still have 5 games to play except York & Doncaster who have 6. Our outstanding matches are Toulouse,York,Keighley,Hunslet & Skolars. If we continue our present form we should win 4 of these which would give us a good chance of finishing second. Toulouse have yet to play Rochdale,Doncaster,Hunslet & Skolars apart from Barrow.
Wandering pete
If the Raiders were to finish 2nd they would be likely to return to Toulouse for the 1v 2 playoff game the weekend after the super 8 fixture !!Third place looks to be the more likely with Rochdale currently 4 points clear and having 4 home/ 1 away to play....they should only need 3 wins to clinch 2nd and with visits from Keighley/York/Hunslet and Doncaster they should get there. The 3v4 game on the 25 th September against York or Doncaster would then give Raiders a home game with a place in the following weekends final to play for....not counting too many chickens are we....?? Campeze
Been told we should get a decision as to when and where the game will be played by 12 noon Tuesday 2nd Aug. So stand by ya beds!!! SJD
Thanks for that Pete, but what did we as a club agree to? The RFL have this fixture down as Sunday, the people of York have no idea and although I have every sympathy for the position they find themselves in Barrow has to make the decision that is the more favourable to us, and our board must listen to the coach, if we cannot put out his first choice on Saturday then there is only one option. Don't forget Bearman has already booked his rail ticket for Sunday, if nothing else do this for our number one supporter.
