  1. Enjoyable so far. I say that as a neutral... obviously if you're a Leeds fan then you may feel differently about that. Enjoying the presentation as well. Well done so far to Sky.
  2. Well happy to say that I found The Ritz to be an excellent venue and we had a great night.
  3. I'm at The Ritz in Manchester on Sat for Katatonia. Never been there before so hopefully it'll be ok. As for fave venues... my current fave is The Boulevard in Wigan which puts on some great punk gigs. The aforementioned Star & Garter in Manchester holds many memories for me and is such an iconic venue I overlook all its flaws. As for other places I always used to enjoy the Manchester Academy especially 1 & 2. Paid my first visit to Club Academy last year as well and that was alright. My fave London venue was always LA 2 and The Astoria itself. I don't think I've even bothered going down to London since its demise.
  4. This part is interesting. Most of the 'blame' is usually put on the tackler even when the actions of the ball carrier can have an effect. "A greater focus on the actions of the ball carrier Ball carriers will be encouraged to follow the principle that rugby is a game of evasion, and they should avoid late dipping and thereby avoid creating a situation where a bent tackler may be put at increased risk of head-on-head contact with the ball carrier through a late or sudden change in body height of the ball carrier. Match officials will focus on the actions of the ball carrier as well as the tackler when head contact occurs."
  5. Each morning I take a look at the Sky News app and run my eyes over the stories. I only open a story further if I'm actually interested in said story. I currently work 3 days a week (Mon - Wed) so I have to put up with Radio 2 at work so I'm also exposed to the news that way. The other 4 days are (almost) blissful ignorance of the #######how that humanity has turned this planet into.
  6. As much as I do like to expand my knowledge of things... sometimes ignorance is beneficial
  7. I'd never heard of them so I've just googled them
  8. I streamed it via firestick. Probably should have mentioned that it my post.
  9. Sledge Hammer! Oh my. Haven't watched this since it aired back in the day. Just rewatched the first episode (pilot) and it still cracks me up. If you liked Police Squad/Naked Gun then you may very well like this as well.
  10. As for tips... Ditch the shorts. Find comfortable and warm clothing, snuggle up with your other (undoubtedly better) half and enjoy her/his company whilst making light of the season. Be sure to take in the sun when it's out and use every opportunity to laugh and enjoy life because there is always someone in a far worse position than you. Be thankful that it's soup season and seek out all the recipes on youtube and give them a go.
  11. Our Central Heating packed in four years ago (Back boiler). We haven't bothered replacing it. We're not as soft as we once were.
  12. I reckon most of you lot could start a fight in an empty room.
  13. So far today I have: 1) Been shopping 2) Done 50 waves of horde and a few mp games on Gears 5 3) Currently on Guinness number 2 of a planned 4 whilst sat outside listening to one of my spotify playlists featuring punk and thrash. Just another thursday
  14. Fantastic 'Crust' band from Gothenburg. Recommended to any Amebix fans on here..(Just me then lol)
  15. “Particularly disappointing was the sustained criticism of match officials over the course of the week." I think most people would accept that to a degree some comments made in the heat of the moment aren't always going to be the most considered but to continue the criticism in the days that follow is IMO worthy of being pulled up over.

  17. Slight tangent here but.... One of the great things about some games is that you get to visit buildings in that space that are often favourable representations of those buildings. In the game 'The Saboteur' for example the setting is occupied Paris and surrounding areas and when/if you get chance to visit some of these buildings in real life it really does add to the experience and gives you a sense of familiarity that you wouldn't get otherwise.
  18. Well... I manage to ignore other people to such an extent these days that this piece of local news had completely passed me by: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/dec/14/plans-for-cemetery-with-35000-burial-plots-divide-lancashire-town
  19. Extremely disappointing (although not unexpected) news. The game over here at this moment really needed the boost a well run World Cup could have given it. The selfish attitude and outright disdain for our game shown by those in power down under is something I will not forget.
  20. I'm very much a glass half full person but I'm finding it harder and harder to be positive about the game these days.
