One or two of us genuinely conduct adult conversations on the problems facing RL in our area and the struggles of both clubs, but yes your right there is a large contingent who thinks the RL world revolves around the goings on of the 2.But at least it's never dull ! Davo5
On 19 May 2018 at 11:25 AM, Graham said: Roosters Dylan Napa has escaped sanction for his controversial hit on Brisbane prop Korbin Sims despite being sin-binned on Friday night. Napa was placed on report for leading with his head in the tackle, which resulted in him being marched at a crucial juncture in their six-point defeat at Suncorp Stadium. However the match review committee came up with a clean sheet on Saturday. Roosters coach Trent Robinson vehemently disagreed with the sin-binning after the match, claiming it was merely an accidental head clash. Correct decision for a change but maybe the halfwit who advised it was a sinbining offenice should be down"

Graham
Josh Morris is likely to be out for up to eight weeks with a knee injury. So he's predicted to make his return in R19. He's out of contract at the end of the season. The club has problems with keeping below the salary cap for next season, so the thinking is that Josh is likely to play elsewhere in 2019 Edited May 22, 2018 by Graham The Australian Rugby League Forum

I' m 60 this year and wife asked what I wanted. I want to go to the grand final were hopefully Barba will lead Saints to victory ( I think wife was hoping I would pay for us to go to New York ). Barba is a delight to watch he plays the game with a smile on his face. He is a player that should be used to push the game. Instead on the main forum he is snipped at as are those who like him by posters who would love him on their team. He couldn't play for certain teams because as I say he plays with a smile on his face . Who knows maybe just maybe I'll take the wife to Australia in February to see Saints play the Sharks in the World Championship. Apologies to all for diverting the thread. Carry on. Graham
First game in R12 - Broncos v Eels Latest news (Wednesday): Brisbane's Josh McGuire has failed a fitness test and will not take the field in Thursday night’s game against Parramatta. McGuire was desperate to make an early return from an ankle complaint after being named on extended bench in a bid to impress Maroons selectors and push his case for State of Origin. Meanwhile, Jordan Kahu will return from a broken jaw for Brisbane, replacing Tom Opacic in the centres while George Fai slots in for Korbin Sims (broken jaw) on the bench. Eels have named Corey Norman at fullback, with Clint Gutherson to partner Mitchell Moses in the halves. “Mitchy can make sure he steers us around and we’ve got one dominant voice and Gutho can provide us with the energy - which he usually does - and his game and job won’t change,” Brad Arthur said. “Normy likes to be in the game and wherever the game is he wants to be and wherever the ball is that’s where he wants to be.” Edited May 23, 2018 by Graham The Australian Rugby League Forum
Graham
Apparently Wests Tigers would like to lure Valentine Holmes. Cowboys are supposedly another club seriously interested in Holmes. Graham
The last two to three seasons have seen a spate of serious knee injuries, affecting some of the games biggest names on both sides of the world; Clint Gutherson, Greg Inglis, Tom Johnstone and most recently Kallum Watkins. Many people have speculated the causes of the increase to be; tackling styles, boots or harder ground, the fact of the matter is that regardless of the cause it's a horrific injury for anyone to go through and can potentially end careers. Graham
The NRL has already surpassed last year’s yellow card count for 2017, this covers the entire season and finals, after just 11 rounds of the regular season. Referees were given strict orders to clamp down on players in the 2018 season, for things such as repeat offences, multiple penalties conceded on the goal line and slowing or stalling techniques. This has lead to a sharp rise in the number of players on the receiving end of a yellow card and it's not likely to stop anytime soon. NRL CEO Todd Greenburg came out publicly and addressed the media in regards to the milking of penalties, throwing the ball into stranded players and all round unsporting conduct, giving the referees licence to send players to the Sin Bin and give penalties against clear instances of that kind of behaviour. With last year's total of 43 Yellow cards already broken, we are currently on course to set a huge record for cards in a season. Comparing to the combined total of the 2013-2016 seasons, which accumulate to 52 over the course of 78 regular weekly rounds plus finals, this quite frankly is an astonishing figure. Graham
Broncos say James Roberts is fit for selection for Origin I on June 6 in Melbourne despite the centre limping off in the second half of Thursday night’s NRL win over Parramatta. The X-factor left the field as a precaution with a left-ankle niggle and an ongoing achilles complaint in the same leg. Graham
Parramatta football department have told at least one rival NRL club they would be willing to pay a portion of the final year remaining on Corey Norman's contract so that he can leave at the end of this season. Norman is contracted to the Eels until 2019, but talk of coach Brad Arthur losing faith in the playmaker won't go away. Norman was moved from the halves to fullback against Brisbane on Thursday night with one theory suggesting it is part of a bigger picture which involves Clint Gutherson and Mitchell Moses combining in the halves and Bevan French shifting to fullback. That plan would leave Norman on the outer. The rival club interested in Norman is in need of a game-breaker, but would only look at the Eels star if Parramatta forked out a large portion of his $900,000 contract. Graham
Wests Tigers forward Matt Eisenhuth has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at Concord until 2020. Eisenhuth first debuted as a mature-age rookie midway through 2017 when he was thrust into a struggling Tigers side that eventually finished 14th. The 25-year-old has played 22 NRL games for the club and has been a shining light for the Tigers over the last 12 months, which has seen him secure a regular spot in first grade in 2018. A cousin of Sharks enforcer Paul Gallen, Eisenhuth's toughness and willingness to do the hard yards up the middle has attracted the attention of coach Ivan Cleary.
