Defence won it for Easts. Second half not great from either team. South went close to scoring but couldn't crack the line more than once.

It's going to be a long season for them.

Good game of football very enjoyable to watch. Brave effort by Souths very competitive big blow losing sami burgess for 2nd half could have gone close to a win with sam on the park.

Graham who was your man of the match?

Also anyone have an offical crowd attendance for the game?

Probably less than the number of Storm members.

I kept noticing  Boyd Cordner who  always makes ground and never takes a step back. He's clever too.

What do you reckon?

Maybe Michael Gordon with his points tally of a try and four goals (12 points).

Daniel Tupou also caught the eye.

If pushed I'd probably go for Gordon as he set up the win.

Gordan or Cordner toss of a coin between them two for Man of match.

Roosters are the real deal will be worried when we face them.

Panthers off to an early start with a diving DWZ try in the 4th minute. He repeated it 5 minutes later but had a foot out of play.

Panthers 4-0 but Knights on attack 10m out.

21min: try on debut to Corey Harawira Naera (CHN) after a very busy period. I think Braith Anasta will be ignoring CHN given his woeful attempt at pronunciation.

FFS it's Hara- wira - ny- ra. Much easier than Xiannikis Anastasakis

Panthers 10-0

25min: Te Maire Martin (TMM) try. Cleary converts. 16-0

Joe Wardle makes his NRL debut as one of the Saifitis goes to head bin.

31min: try to Tyrone Peachey. Cleary converts from sideline. Panthers 22-0

It was Jacob Saifiti.

Weird stat: at the 34th minute, Panthers have had possession for 19 minutes.

HT: 22-0  Arf, arf

Penrith are great to watch.

Yes they're great at attacking but the Knights (when they get the ball) are still getting upfield fairly easily. I think this could end 50-0
