Don't know if it's mind games with Uncle John Kear or taken out of context but I'd be dead against anything like this, and yes I'll think the same if York do finish 2nd.

Just as an update - there is an EGM on September 14th to decide on the two up from League One proposal.

The Super Dooper boys get two votes each ( thats 24 votes ) - possibly only Leeds will vote against.

The Championship/League Oners get a vote each but not Toulouse or Toronto ( not RFL members ) so that's 24 votes.

The other seven are Community organisations like BARLA and Schools RL.

A total of 55 so there cant be a 'tie' unless someone abstains.

I get the impression that those below Super League feel that the proposal is the thin end of the wedge to get rid of League one so generally will oppose it...

Will the outcome be decided by the seven votes outside of 'pro' RL ?

I'm quite happy with the arrangement as it is - top to go up and Bulls to take their chances in the playoffs

Much as I'm loathed to disagree with fordy I am doin on this one. Champions have to get promoted by right.

Thinks it’s a bit of retaliation to Big John’s innefective mind games. “We may finish top but i’d still happily take you on in a best of three to see who goes up.”  That’s how much we are worried about Bradford Bulls.

It’s still so very wrong on every score I can think of. Objectives are there to be met, not changed at the eleventh hour if it looks like you are not going to get the outcome you wished for. By all means introduce the changes at the end of next season if they so wish so that club’s genuinely know what they are playing for but a week or so before the season ends when it’s too late to do anything about it. Wrong, just wrong!

This could be very tight . How can the community and amateur  game potentially decide the future of the pro game ? That’ll be a good look . And what if the weight of  SL is decisive on the structure of the lower leagues ... and the majority of those clubs don’t vote for the structure they get lumped with . Boy this could get messy !
