Newcastle in town this weekend

The lads from the Toon are in town on Saturday as their fate is sealed I think they will give it a right go absolutely nothing to loose.

It's up to Batley to really thrash it about and finish off with a big win even with a kn*****ed squad and short turn round.

We absolutely must put a big score on them, as a just in case. York won't run away with it at Barrow so we need 16 points better than their result. Next problem comes in getting Halifax to lose at Swinton! All good fun eh??

Yes I suppose we have to, but Swinton came to the Mount in the second game of the season and did us over, so it could be possible.

Now lets get back to the Newcastle match.

That's a great move and a chance for us all to pay our respects to a giant of the game. Is there still a player playing who won a winner's medal 13 years ago? The club should be working on a benefit for him as I reckon Jonny's not asked the RFL for a testimonial. Aren't Leaky and Browny due theirs?

Win 46-14.

By all accounts we may well be saying goodbye to several players on home soil tomorrow. Lets hope the boys are lifted by this and send them out with a great winning performance. Lets also get as many supporters in the ground to cheer the lads on and celebrate those that are leaving.

Whoever the 'several' are just a shame they can't all play, I hope they can all be persuaded to be in attendance and are presented after the game, either onfield or during the presentation event, they could be presented with their heritage numbers/shirts as a goodbye.                     As Flynn won't be available I'd move Bucko to loose, Kear inside and JC on his outside.

I reckon you’ll win on Saturday and win comfortably, then you’ve got to wait then until Sunday for the other results to come in,if I’m honest I can’t see Halifax losing at home to Swinton. No matter what happens though you’ve had another good season with the squad you had, only bringing in Luke Hooley when needed. You got the chance to see your team run out at Wembley Stadium, not many fans from other clubs can say that. See you all next season, well that’s if you don’t sneak into the playoffs and win it beating Fev in the final 😉

I’ve heard a couple of players retiring and two maybe three players moving on,rest are staying.

We don’t have points in us… we have scored 69 in the last 5 I think we will win but not as comfortable as people think…

Regarding outs, remains and ins, I'm sorry to churn out the same old, but we have to refresh and improve, a number of players have given what they had and with the best will in the world can't give another year at the same level whilst around us other squads are raising their levels. Assuming that it's Donny who join The Rams coming up, even these 2 will be looking for strengthening, we have to exceed their result just to stay where we are. Even if it's as mentioned above (how is it that we have to glean info from across the valley?), even with the known retirees and movers we're still looking down the barrel of 6 new players, that doesn't happen at our place. Hope we're not just content with 'bobbing along'.

How do you know we haven’t signed players? The club have done well keeping quiet this time, moxon might have signed a new team

Lets not worry about the future just yet, lets get today over and done with, then in my estimation have a decent rest from rugby and just let the club get on with what they have to do, yes I'm saying we will not be going any further this season.

Came good in the 2nd half, 20-0 and with Bulldog tackling we'd normally have prevented at least 1 of their tries, but give Newc some praise they made it hard for us in both games. If improving our team means cherry-picking good players then I'd invite Boafo and have always been impressed with Ted Chappelhow.

Yes, scored as well, balances out! He just happened to be the one who got picked on by the ref at the end of a long line of niggles and time wasting bits n pieces from Thunder defending their line, ref gave a few quick pens then got fed up of them not listening! Couple of other decent youngish forwards who'd do well here IMO are Brogan and Bennion from Swinton.

Now the hard work begins; the board has to sit down and work out the position of finance from the £10 a ticket move, did it work, do they need to call on the pot of money promised by however many sponsors, if not can they be persuaded to make the fund available for players along with any requests to BISSA? What will next season's prices need to be, bearing in mind the fact that several clubs' prices are already condiderably higher than ours anyway? Will Peter McVeigh's new deal help out in recruitment? Who will Mokko meet with and ask for funding for? A myriad of questions to keep us riding high, both on and off field. Good luck!!
