We heard a few nuggets last year about how poor the training was, how the facilities just weren't up to scratch etc. But a lot more stuff has come to light since. From Hull Uni students making up the bulk of out physio team to players eating lunch in their cars because there was nowhere for them to all sit together.

By all accounts this pre season has been night and day compared to last. Cartwright has got them fit, hungry, and ready to fight for each other. I don't think we have the quality of player to really be in the mix at the top. But I think anyone writing us off as bottom of the table fodder will get a surprise. And if the likes of Moy, Balmforth, Kemp etc are able to have real breakout years then who knows what we might be able to do.

I agree and think the black-and-whites may find more of those performances that brought the 24-22 victory over Wigan in August. First task (the cup-tie v amateurs doesn't count) is to find a way to win away.

Apparently things didn't run too smoothly today at West Hull vs Saints.

(edit: this was meant for the attendance thread, my mistake).

West Hull’s leadership quite rightly disagree, and call out the small-minded Hull FC fans criticism of Hull KR…
