Harlequins coach Latham Tawhai said:

"When you look at the personnel we had missing to come up with a performance like that is huge.
It says a lot about what we are doing as a club to produce that with just one overseas player".

Isn't the whole team Australian backpackers???

What's going on???

I think we should be told......

Will Sharp is from Bradford. I went to Ampleforth with him on Bradford Schools training camp. Well actually I think he's from somewhere in Africa by birth.

But went to Quins from South London Storm which is why he is considered a product of London RL.

And all their coaching staff bar one are British. Puts some more "established" clubs to shame.

This data provided by the Parksider shows that Harlequins are the most indigenously based club in Super League at this time. They are the moral pride of Super League.

And to think that the fans of some northern clubs that are stuffed full of Antipodeans want to drop Quins from Super League!

You are correct. Parksider started the thread and raised the question of AUssie backpackers sarcastically.

It was the mighty Benny who provided the stats. I was so impressed with the data that I forgot who provided it.

My apologies to Benny.

Lol

Anyway... are those stats correct or not?

London should mean played RL at an amateur club in the South or Quins Academy.

Apology accepted, and I shall thenceforth be known as 'the mighty Benny' biggrin.gif

If these English boys can put together a lot more wins like that, and Wakefield, Castleford and Bradford lose most of their remaining games, then Quins will be in the running for the playoffs.

It now seems that Brian McDermott is not going to Bradford. At least last night showed that he has some talented youth to work with and help develop in London.

I want them to move to sonewhere in the south where they get more than pathetic 3000ish crowds to matches, but where they still provide a pathway to SL for London players. I'm far from the only person to believe that Harlequins RL has been a huge failure as an experiment, doesn't mean I want a north only SL. Somewhere like Oxford would be preferable, if they do stay in London then East London where they'd be the biggest rugby club is the best bet

When London rugby union clubs were all folding or close to it, 2 dropped out and 3 left London and have had far more success outside London than they ever had in lettig Harlequins RU be the pro rugby club for London or at least West London. Competing head to head in the same ground and with the same name as the only other tip flight rugby club is not attracting many fan at all, burI know you want SL crowd averages down to 3000 just so we can say we have teams in places like London and Paris and about 6 French sides, 4 in places RL is small and where the talent is this far just enough for 1 side, hopefully 2 by 2015.

Your trolling is getting boring now just go back to supporting Huddersfield and moderate your expansionism to at most Parksider's level (though you don't want to expand within England outside of London)
