SL clubs look to reinstate Nigel Wood.

We've had minimum standards for years. The problem is that they weren't enforced. Even under IMG the stated minimum standards in the guide book have 'get outs'. -

For anyone travelling to Fev on Sunday please note that the M62 will be closed westbound between junctions 29 (Lofthouse) and 28 (Tingley) from 9pm on Friday 4 July until Monday 7 July at 5am. Diversion will be via M1/M621. As far as I can tell the eastbound carriageway will remain open (but please double check as reports I saw a few weeks ago were that it was going to be a full motorway closure). Safe journey if you are coming.

Rugby League demoted from BBC sport main menu
Les Tonks Sidestep replied to N2022's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
This comes up regularly - you are almost certainly on the bbc.com not bbc.co.uk site -
Not sure that would help at all as it's usually the team in possession 'wasting' time so giving them 6 again would almost certainly encourage it more.

There's a huge difference in refs encouraging an injured player to get up under their own steam and someone lifting an injured player. edit: redundant apostrophe removed

Protests at Eagles v Hunslet game

- New ground: SYMCA and SCC don't want the stadium at Meadowhead due to its location and the application is on hold. However, they are still planning for the new ground to be ready in 2 years time with a capacity of 2500. - They're not on the best of terms with the owners of the OLP, but relations are better than they were. SG wanted them out at one point. - Income is ca£900k less than expenditure(!) with central funding of £30k. - Average crowd ca 1000 - Aston's was hard done by and his punishment unfair - although some people from the floor said they told Aston MM was not available for selection. The club and RFL are still agreeing changes in lieu of a reduced financial penalty. - The Board fully support Lingard. - They have no idea what will happen to the Championship/L1 going forward and have no influence on the current ongoing review. Edit: source Eagles Chat Twitter -
Just clicked on that and saw these: Izaac Farrell (Keighley Cougars) - Opposition: Swinton Lions - Grade C Head Contact - Fine - Penalty Points: 3 - Total Penalty Points: 5.5 Izaac Farrell (Keighley Cougars) - Opposition: Swinton Lions - Grade C Foul Language Towards Referee - 1 Match Suspension and Fine - Penalty Points: 5 - Total Penalty Points: 9 Do they need a new abacus or is it the vagaries of the Penalty Points system?

Salford financial issues(again…)

If only 1 or 2 games were cancelled I'd have thought it more likely that win% would be used to determine the final Table. -
Toulouse away game - new venue
Les Tonks Sidestep replied to The Phantom Horseman's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Was wondering when the venue would get changed.... The train takes just over 20mins from Matabiau station to Colomièrs Lycée International from where it's about a 20mins walk to the ground (about 40 mins walk from Gare Colomièrs) or catch the L2 bus from either station. Last train to get there in time for ko is at 16.24. There's one train back after the match finishes, at 21.11 from Lycée or 21.15 from the centre. Alternative route is Line A to Arènes and then the L2 bus to the ground. -

League 1 Blank Weekend
Les Tonks Sidestep replied to Blind side johnny's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Probably the same reason there's also a blank weekend of 16/17th August...
