  1. Johnny Lomax played the back half of the 2022 season with a ruptured bicep so it is doable. I said at the time he didn’t get the appreciation he deserved for playing through that.
  2. You get £1.8m but it costs £4m plus to run a half decent SL club.
  3. I think it did he just wasn’t the man to do it. From the 2014 GF win to the 2019 GF win took a big turnover in personnel to get winning titles again. Sure a few players stayed around like Roby,Walmsley,Lomax ,Thompson Percival and Makinson but the 2014 squad needed overhauling. Soliola,Manu,Llaffranchi,Clough,Wellens all went. Hohaia was all but done I think Walsh broke his leg the year before and was never the same again and I’m pretty sure Lomax lost the year virtually through injury. Cunningham was dealt a really tough hand don’t let the 2014 GF hide that fact.
  4. From an outsider it reminds me of Cunningham at Saints it’s not so much the performances. It’s the comments after don’t seem to match what’s just happened. So you lose confidence he’s the man to fix the problem.
  5. Jeopardy is proven not to bring fans in. A team near the bottom of the leagues crowds will have dropped far more through the season than can be made up by a one off boost in some sort of relegation decider.
  6. Always worth pointing out that Hanley and Offiah never played together for Wigan. People always think Wigan could just sign anyone they did have to manage their player budget a bit.
  7. Why would you move an event that gets 60 odd thousand to a 30k stadium. That seems like madness.
  8. He would be but probably more as a replacement for Lomax than Dodd. I suppose it would work if the idea is to move Lomax to scrum half but not sure that’s a good idea personally.
  9. The only difference I see is the fullback is more like a second stand off in skill set.
  10. This is not actually true the roles may have changed but these positions tend to have very specific roles still. Take Wigan as an example French at 6 and smith at 7 are very different players and also close to the traditional 6 and 7.
  11. True but they could develop in SL with the presser off a bit. They obviously have some talent to get this far maybe a spell over here could be a good move for them.
  12. There was a change in the first game Saints played against him he was virtually untouchable in the first half. Then in the second half Saints took the time and space away from him and seemed to get more control. The same in the game the week later Saints seemed to have more control of him. That’s not to say he isn’t a threat but clubs do seem to have a better idea of how to handle him.
  13. I did wonder if Saints would go after one of the two half backs currently at Souths. Either Ilias or Hawkins to replace Dodd.
