donald
yes they wouldnt have been cheap.wonder if he could be a target for us then should we part company with PV i think he wanted a 3 year business plan like how much we would have each year for his plans which is fair enough but at this level I don't think anybody can say what the finances will be year on year unless you can bank on 2k plus crowds every home game
wonderofwood
Who are you guys kidding ?? Off course a club can budget and put together a three year plan based on projective income and expenditure . If not they shouldn't be running a amateur club let alone a semi pro outfit. As for guys coming from the top amateur teams in the northwest - NOT A CHANCE - they play amateur for the same reason you find very few Cumbrians travelling south to play in championship !! They have good jobs

unicorn106
Whitehaven have announced their new coach-- Carl Foster/player coach. Bit of a shock that one seeing as they were suppose to be getting a local coach who was bringing the cream of the amateur game with him. 24 is young for a coach, I suppose finances scuppered that one. It was good to hear there were 10 people attending our last board meeting last week, this is very encouraging for the future, let's hope they can all work together and re-build the club. The Voodooguru
All the haven lads at work were all still in a state of shock today. Although they were trying their best to put a positive spin on the new coach there wasn't any doubt they weren't exactly over the moon. One good point was that the success or failure will all depend on his assistants and how if any of them will hold the necessary coaching badges. I suppose with our coaching position up for grabs its hard to say who has been the shrewdest appointment. The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet! Guest
Not sure if he has a coaching badge but Scot McAvoy has, and all he has to do is register for a course and he will be covered, he could also have Amanda Hewer sitting on the bench as she already has her coaching badge,

The Voodooguru
Crack at work is they've signed Steve Roper who used to play for us. Unless he's improved dramatically as he's got older I've told them not to get too excited by it. A steady player but that's about it. Confirmed by the BBC "Whitehaven have signed half-back Steven Roper, who spent part of the 2016 season at Rochdale Hornets. Roper, 29, spent six years with Rochdale before joining Oldham in 2015, where he won promotion to the Championship that same season. This year he was in the Roughyeds side that beat Hull KR in the Challenge Cup, before returning to help the Hornets to League One promotion in July." C1 is his level as he has been there for some yrs , tends to remain there or return there when his clubs (oldham , rochdale ) go up .

wonky
Average player tbh, but at least they have players signed on and a coach to make those decisions. Thryve also confirmed others including ell miller, jjp and dion. 3 quality players at that level, thats if they can get elliot on the field, which unfortunately for him seems a hard job over recent years with his rotten injury luck. the futures bright, the futures blue and white

wonderofwood
just a guess but heard a rumbling today hes been released I would imagine that everyone has been released, then given a new contract to consider with revised figures. This always happens when relegation hits. Even if JS was signed for next year Town will not have the finances to match his current contract so they have to take the opportunity now to use the release clauses . If they didn't then they are liable to pay the full contract. I think its fairly standard practice marra
