  3. They aren't far away from me. I'm tempted to send them an email to find out a bit more. I haven't played since my teens but if they are looking for players I wouldn't mind a run out at a low standard on a casual basis.

  4. 5900 is plenty of people to choose from, they only need 17 players, we have Super League sides in only marginally larger towns. Great news on the new club and best of luck to them.

  5. The larger population centres of Stirling, Alloa and Dunfermline (all of which have RU clubs) aren't far from 'Tilly'.

  6. I remember some years ago RL going great guns in Glasgow when there were development officers in the schools. That was until the funding dried up. I think Aberdeen suffered as it is very out of the way and they had a lack of opposition. Like anywhere there is no reason RL cant work in Scotland but it needs sustained funding and boots on the ground and someone to pay for all that. RL has been show to take off pretty well when the funding and support is there.

  7. Check out "Angry People In Local Newspapers" on facebook for the best local news. People pulling angry, confused or despairing faces at pencil necked Council desk jockeys. Squatting as if they are doing a poo and pointing at potholes. Fuming because their child has been sent home from school for an unlawful haircut See how Christmas was "ruined" because Aldi had run out of puddings and much more!

  9. Watching a repeat of the chase and the question is, "In 2010, Neil Robertson became the first player from which country to win the world snooker championship?" This is incorrect, the first World champion from Australia was Horace Lindrum in 1952, I'm a big snooker fan, I know this for a fact, it's so annoying when questions are just blatantly wrong on quiz shows, how hard is it for the people setting the questions to just do a quick google search to check the facts?!

  10. I watched nearly ten minutes of inside the factory before I just had to knock it off due to the utterly annoying irritating infuriating it’s all about me I’m so funny did you know I was a greengrocer Greg Wallace . That would be a good show about how things are made if he wasn’t on it

  11. Not a massive basketball fan but do enjoy watching it from time to time; this is a crazy stat. LeBron James last night became the first player in NBA history to score at least 10 points in 1000 consecutive regular season games. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/lebron-james-becomes-first-player-in-nba-history-to-score-at-least-10-points-in-1000-straight-games/

  12. That sounds like a good long-term goal, but I doubt they will be in a position to do that any time soon, it sounds like they are still trying to consolidate one team, let alone starting a reserves team. They seem to be going slow and steady, which is good and more realistic in my opinion.

  16. In the Pennines another dull, dreary day has been enlivened by the arrival of the Magpie on the garage roof for his/her daily inspection of the bird table contents. It beats anything thats been on TV for entertainment this Christmas

  17. Aberdeen Warriors were doing well at one stage and played in the Challenge Cup (I think more than once), but I think they folded a couple of years ago, which is a real shame.
