Well done.

You can only beat what's put up in front of you and Warrington did that with some good entertaining and fluid rugby.

Shame Catalan didn't make more of a game of it.

As with yesterday's Leeds thread, I echo the sentiments, without being able to say it!

I just hope that awful green and red shirt isn't Warrington's kit at Wembley!

I won't know who to shout for. Like the league game earlier, the lesser of two evils.

My thoughts.

Thoroughly professional demolition of a nervous ,then shell-shocked team.

######, that comma's in the wrong place.... ;)

Last time we made Wembley 2 years on the spin, we lost the second time....('75,v Widnes,14-7, though it was 1 try each)

Yes, Well done Warrington, with absolutely no reservations.

Shows what a good coach can achieve with a good mix of home grown and imported talent. Great support, too, with the stadium almost full.

Good to see that Les Cats brought some support too, despite the length and cost of the journey to the neutral venue.

March 2025 and the lunatics have finally taken control of the asylum.

This (for the time being) is a Wigan and/or NRL free zone, so he'll start his own thread on the matter over the next few days.

Warrington are in their home kit, Leeds are in away kit.

Thank you for your valuable contribution.

Congratulatons to the Wire fans on here. Some great tries by your team. Loved Solomona's offload and Riley's try after the kick from Briers, the break from Hicks, the kick from Monaghan (what vision and composure) was rugby of the highest order.

It's going to make for an interesting final!

We have the best final for RL in Wire v Leeds, and that we can all agree on.

It should come very close to selling out with two big sets of travelling fans.

A Saints v Catalans final could have been the death of the great competition.

The competition seems okay since 2007.

Superb performance Wire.

Indeed, although the Dragons played at times like they'd never met each other. That shouldn't detract from a wonderful show of handling skills, support play, varied attack and total commitment.

Great day out at the Stobart too. Wasn't it great to see an almost full stadium for the tv cameras?

Next up Wakefield.... can't afford to slip up now and miss 2nd place.

I'll wish both sides well but you do come out with some oddball comments. In your perfect world, we could restrict the teams entering to say five or six who are capable of attracting the crowds? We could even go one step further and relagate all team in Super League that cannot generate five-figure gates! B)

Catalans have as much right to reach the final as any other team, no matter how many fans they attract. I'm sure the competition would still be up and running next year if they had got there.

An interesting point made to me before the game on sunday was that although the catalan dragons play in a european SL,the challenge cup is really a british competition and therefore teams from overseas like the dragons should be grateful of the invitation to play in the comp and quit moaning about having to travel. Either that or let them withdraw from it and enter their own national cup competition.

An interesting point ...

I find it more ignorant than interesting - sorry if that offends you

A lot of clubs from here and abroad find the away ties hard on them and their fans because of the expense, however they are glad to be in the competition at the time.

I believe getting to the semi final stage gives you as much right as any team to expect a truly neutral venue. Maybe Wire and the RFL were afraid that the fans from Warrington would not travel any further than Widnes.

Whilst I do not suffer fools gladly, I will always gladly make fools suffer

Paul, there was a hint of sarcasm in my last sentence - I must remember to add a smiley

The RFL like stadiums to look full when on national TV. Maybe they reaslised that the chances of a catalan victory were slim, and therefore wanted a reasonable sized stadium to look quite full and realised that widnes was their best option?

PMSL, i forgot my smiley, you no how sarcastic i am :P

I have put on other threads, the RFL could have stopped this arguement in 2007 when the Cats beat the Pies @ the HJ.

They could have easy said, next time cats make a semi, it'll be in France.(which is my true opinion)

But, as a reminder it is the CC and its ours (eng/welsh)

it would be like Lyon playing in the FA Cup :O

It's a sad state of affairs if we have to bow to the BBC. The competition should stand on its own two feet, no matter what. There are many empty spaces in the erlier rounds anyway.

Didn't the Welsh enter later? If so, then it was an English competition first and foremost. No doubt, someone will enlighten us on its early history.

It's not pandering to the BBC, it is in the RFL's interest for the full stadiums, not the BBC.
