JohnM
now why would a trip to Aus be a perk? “The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
boxhead
now why would a trip to Aus be a perk? He might get some frequent flyer points and a few free Beers and Meals?
Dave T
Most Jobs like his have "Perks" like this, it goes with the package. TBH it is a very important trip - as well as speaking to and watching his possible England players, he can watch the opposition players playing in their own environment. It may appear to be a nice trip, but I see it as absolutely crucial.

JohnM
Might be worth it for all of us if you went with him, too. “The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. South Wakefield Sharks
Hope he has a good trip. The England set up has become so much more professional in recent years. It's the sort of things you would expect from the national coach in many sports, for them to go and see potential players playing in their domestic comp. You can't dispute the fact that the RFL are giving England every possible opportunity to do well in the World Cup. If we're ultimately not good enough, then so be it. At least it won't be, because the RFL cut corners.
Bearman
I've Just watched Superleague Back Chat and Stevo agrees with me that the whole trip is just a waste of money.. Now I know I was wrong! Ron Banks Midlands Hurricanes and Barrow
hindle xiii
Didn't the RFL know Premier Sports is free to view this weekend? D'oh!
hindle xiii
Widdop injured, possible dislocated hip apparently.
Southstander13
Last year when Steve Mac went to Aus, Gareth Ellis broke his foot and Sam Burgess did his knee in the same game. This year, G Burgess gets banned for the duration of his trip and Widdop has now dislocated his hip. Complete coincidence but talk about a bad luck charm! Hope Widdop recovers well, sounds pretty painful! Edited June 24, 2013 by Southstander13
OMEGA
Complete waste of money, not least because MacNamara isn't clever enough to eek any info out of watching games live over televised. Glorified holiday
hindle xiii
I think he needs one. At least in the NRL no-one knows who the flip he is. International ignorance has it's advantages in Australia sometimes.
