graham fisher
I see big Alex picked up 3 awards at St Helens end of season awards night. Founder members player of the year. Players player of the year. Player of the year. That takes some doing at a club like St Helens as it's full of of star players for me. Chuffed for the lad,and Batley should be proud as well for giving the lad a chance.

Jermaine McGilvary did same at Giants , must be something Batley is doing well , as a platform for a super league career , Would be nice to see them both in England shirts

buford t justice
Hope he wins the man of steel too. A really nice and approachable bloke, remembers his roots and hasnt let his success go to his head. Deserves all the accolades he gets and im personally made up for THE BEAST! What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law
TheTerminator
IIRC rightly, there was a clause written into our deal with Saints that they'd pay us a sum if Alex made the England team. Do the right thing Mr McNamara......
phildog
It'll be a surprise if McNamara ever did the right thing. One plus though, he won't be able to keep picking Sinfield as an international half-back!
Bill H
Walmsley and McGilvary are in the SL dream team. I don't think that we can take any kudos for McGilvary who was on the Giants books when he played for us; but it's good to see two players with Batley connections achieving dream team status. Dave Craven in the Yorkshire Post made a point, and not for the first time, of describing Walmsley as the ex Batley Bulldogs prop.
