TRL helpdesk " how to teach granny how to suck eggs"

Recommended Posts

Well not exactly how to suck eggs. Does anyone know how to take boiled eggs out from their shells?

I love pickled eggs and often have them in salads. SBut sometimes the shell sticks to the membrane between the shell and the white and is a pain to shuck. YouTube is a waste of time and the intertweb suggests that it a problem for really fresh eggs.

Anyone got any tips?

Roll  them under your hand after you started to break the shell

I've seen sets of half a dozen plastic egg shaped things that you use to crack the egg into, cook it, then put in fridge until needed.  I agree with the rolling mentioned above though.

In the blink of an eye it could all be taken away.  Be grateful always.

You must be getting pretty fresh eggs. We used to keep hens, and never bothered using the freshest eggs for boiling. After a few days, they dry out a bit and the membrane becomes less clingy.
