RigbyLuger
I know it's an exceptional set of circumstances this year, but even before hand, it did seem Hull KR had put a lot of eggs in players from one agent, who is also the agent of their Head of Recruitment. After the dismal job Jamie Peacock did in a senior role there, what is going on at Rovers?
Hela Wigmen
A month ago they were the best side to grace the resumed season having beat Wigan and given Saints a fright. What a long time a month is!
BrisbaneRhino
Its a bit harsh to judge any team for not keeping themselves together during this season when they've got literally nothing to play for. I know we all want everyone to compete all the time, but I personally think all the players across SL have done a great job in just keeping the game going under the circumstances. Hullfan
Doesn't Danny Mcguire have the roll of bringing players to East Hull? What a job that is

RigbyLuger
Wolves have obviously not done it on the cheap.

Hull KR have somewhat of an image problem when it comes to recruitment, a bit like Wakefield I suppose. You know you're not going to be earning a lot because they're skint, the other players at the team aren't the best in class either, the facilities aren't fantastic, and you're far more likely to be in a relegation scrap than challenging for trophies. At least the coach is a plus, but you get the point that recruitment for Hull KR is difficult. The best they can offer a lot of players is the opportunity of a full time contract and the ability to play more regularly than they would at a higher ranked team, perhaps therefore getting more exposure. Liverpool Rover
A lot of the recruitment was for a few years down the line and to get the players to grow as a team, the risk of that at the start of the year was that there would have been the risk of not winning enough games to avoid relegation. Since the restart there were some good performances but they have been getting worse, the constant changing of the team won’t have helped but some signings haven’t worked. There is some talent in the squad such as Lewis, Dagger, Milnes, Minchella etc but we are lightweight in the forwards and lightweight in defence as well. We do need more quality players in but who would be available that would want to come?

Both 1 club Maguire and 2 club Peacock don't help bring in players from different backgrounds. The academy kids at Leeds are likely to end up in the Championship if not successful with out of favour players on DR/Loan in the championship in case they need them. Although money talks recruitment policy has to be smarter. Big reputations are on the line on Thursday night to be fair possibly the biggest Derby where there isn't anything to play for other than pride.
