York as a club, city and area offer more than any other club in the mix. It's the 21st century, stop heralding past glories and look forwards. What can other teams offer that we can't? This is - and should be - about more than just on the pitch and selling a few more burgers and pints on the terraces. Especially when capacities will be capped next season and away followings minimal as a result.

No. The be all and end all is that success should be earned on the pitch. Sport is just that sport, not a business.

I'm sure most would agree. However, this opportunity has arisen. York - and the other applicants - would be daft to sidestep it.

I take it you missed all that Northern Union stuff that went on in Huddersfield in 1895 then?

They are late filing accounts and other information with Companies House. So don't qualify.

That doesn't rule them out at all, it's just one of the assessment criteria which have different (unpublicised) weightings. FWIW they also apparently have unsatisfied CCJs against them. But with a low weighting for this section of the assessment it could be effectively irrelevant.

What are the weighting percentages by criteria if you seem to know so much. If late filing accounts and have CCJ's then in my opinion should not even be considered.

The weightings aren't being published - but they exist

The documentation reveals that each criterion will carry a different weighting, but it doesn’t disclose what the weightings are.

It reads: “The Panel will have absolute discretion in the weighting of the Assessment Criteria. For the avoidance of doubt, the Assessment Criteria do not carry equal weight.”

.Late filing etc are listed only as factors that will be taken into account when carrying out the assessment. The only criteria that ruled anyone out were finishing positions and average crowds over the previous 2 seasons.

So how can you state finances are a low weighting criteria if unpublicised.

Also Toronto were rejected due to finance considerations so must be quite a high weighting criteria.

Could it be possible that whoever Win's the vote to be claiming the vacant position of 12th club in superleague is moving into a very uncompetitive competition , having just witnessed the semi's in their prestigious competition the victors won by a massive 77 points to 4 . Wigan and saints are streets ahead , Leeds and Warrington are the nearest challengers , the rest to be honest are ALSO-RANS . championship for me any day.😀😀😀

And if you look at all 4 of them, everyone has excellent academies alongside their quality first team. Any team without a decent off field setup will struggle massively especially when injuries catch up. Basically you are amongst 8 clubs competing for 5th and avoiding relegation!

Basically just like existing super league clubs there is no criteria. You just need your face to fit
