Yep, the Battle of the Glorious 1st of June I believe it was called. The biggest naval battle of the French Revolutionary Wars, i think the largest of the 30 or so year period of conflict between Britain and France until Trafalgar in 1805.

On this day in 1883, the first regularly scheduled Orient Express service departs from Paris. 

On this day in 1893, the trail of Lizzle Borden begins in the US. 

On this day in 1960, the Lake Bodom murders occur in Finland (have a read about them if you're interested in murder mysteries, Finland's most infamous murders). 

On this day in 1963, John Porfumo resigns over the affair that would be named after him. 

On this day in 1968, Robert Kennedy is assassinated. 

On this day in 1993, the Holbeck Hall Hotel in Scarborough falls into the sea after a landslide.

Holbeck hotel is a nice wave for surfers . Wasn't before it dropped into the sea .
