Dewsbury had one at each end, behind the sticks, used to be a good place to watch and the kids played on it,whilst the parents watched. They were forced to shut after a Widnes fan slipper over, even hough it was closed due to wet weather .He was injured and got paid out , but. due to this insurance costs for the banking were increased and the council stated they were too steep to stand on. One is terraced now the other is just travel but not in use.

They were no where as steep as the semi mountain at sheffield,

Last time we were on that embankment it was ' Hawaiian shirt day ' , complete with inflatable palm tree 😁 , always a great day out at the Rams

Not a SL ground but you used to be allowed to stand on a grassed slope at Chorley.

Same at Hope Park when Prescot Panthers played there, there was a grass bank that ran the full length of the pitch.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

New Craven Park had them when it was first opened

Each end of the Zeebruge Terrace and all of the north end had grassy knolls

All gone now though

In latter years the club used to announce over the Tannoy that they weren't designated as spectator viewing areas

Uk H&S laws wouldn't allow it these days (its amazing that they are still allowed in Oz to be honest) - saying that Whitehaven do their best to let their fans stand on weeds and grassed covered terracing.....

What's unsafe about it? It's not standing either, you have to have enough place to sit down so it's never packed in.

I'm not in charge of UK stadium laws mate, but sitting on grass is quite primative in the modern sporting world of top flight sport.

Ok for Cricket in the sun infront of 100 in a park though.

Sunshine Coast Stadium, home of the QRL falcons, has hosted NRL games over the last few seasons. It has a large grass hill along one side of the pitch but for NRL games the ‘lay out’ collapsable chairs to make it all seating.

Still have standings on the grass sections behind the posts.

Bunnies playing Broncos there later this season.

The grassed slopes at Sheffield are fantastic. You can stand on them outside the actual ground, watch the game  and save your self paying £20 for a ticket.

This only works though if you're a regular at Odsal and are used to watching the game from so far away that you need binoculars...
