State of Origin 1 - Match Thread

Queensland and New South Wales renew their bitter rivalry as they kick-off State of Origin in Adelaide today.
The Maroons upset the Blues last year to regain the shield with some sparkling performances from the likes of Cameron Munster and Patrick Carrigan.

Origin is usually a hugely physical series.
There won’t be any love lost again this match and series with both teams looking evenly matched.

A close call then.

Who’ll win?

I hope they stick with a neutral venue for one Origin match per year. Much better for the competition.

Try for the Maroons - Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow the scorer.

How was that not a red for Addo Carr and a yellow for Pangai? Forearm to the head from A-C and a late tackle by Pangai. Unbeleievable, Klein did nothing

Thought the original contact from JAC was to the body.

Yellow for Pantai???? give over, it was a flop at its absolute worst.

Tom Gilbert off with what looks like an armular injury.

Not off quick enough; Queensland penalised for having 14 players on  the pitch.

Try chalked off for the Welsh New South Welshman Tyson Frizzell. Not sure about that call.

Good old-fashioned sensible refereeing, I reckon.
