I'm obviously a proper fan as the original* Super League comes up for me 🙂

*I have no idea if RL was the first Super League

Sorry that was a total lie - I searched for Super League results, not fixtures.   Fixtures bring up Womens Football, results brings up Mens Rugby League

  • If I put "super league fixtures" in the womens football comes up first followed by RL - and I never Google womens football. If I put just "super league" the results are rugby league related. How odd!

Maybe not that odd, because the women's super league doesn't start until 1st October, so the "results" are more likely to be the RL ones. I know the reverse is true regarding fixtures, but it's never a huge surprise when anything football related is above other sports. The women's World Cup has also only recently finished, so they're probably assuming there's going to be more interest in club matches going forward.

No conclusions but may strengthen the hand of those who think a name change for the top tier would be beneficial.

That discussion has been had many times on here before, but I can't remember there ever being an agreement on what the new name should be.

Something snappy, keeps the name of the sport, and can be abbreviated , which always sounds cool.

Rugby League Elite. (RLE)

" Do you watch the NFL?"

" no I watch the RLE"

" what's that? Sounds cool."

At the top of the page I got a list of Women's Super League fixtures but all the links to websites below were for our Super League so I got a bit of both.

Same here, advert for Women's football but links to Super league site then Sky sports and love rugby league.

Google algorithm... results have many different variables... location, past searches, searches in your area.. the list goes on. I'd say the women's football especially given the fact the world cup has just been on, would be scoring high on their search engine.
