phildog Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I know, let's dwell on today's effort for a while, I will, but the RFL/BBC Sport still has next week's game down for a 3pm start. Can we have some clarification?

Can we have some clarification? Why wouldn't it be 3pm? Need to know if there's a likely change as I'm driving 200+ miles each way next weekend to watch this!
phildog Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 Some time ago there was an announcement of it being an evening game due to some goofball match.

Well, if we had a club website that worked (instead of advising us that the next match is versus Newcastle Thunder) and/or a functioning commercial department, we'd know what was happening. Is anyone at the club going to confirm when the Whitehaven game is on?. Some of us have to make plans on how to get there, you know!
phildog Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 Spot on Bromley, it's a joke, doesn't help with IMG does it. Every season starts well for a week or 2 then nothing. Shambolic at times, tighter than the Secret Service at others.
Keep The Faith Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 It’s Sunday at 3pm - it’s never been mentioned as a 7.30 kick off 1 http://tombatley.wordpress.com/ Give it a read..
phildog Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 Yes it has....but never mind, we know now.

phildog Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 OK, forget it, but those who know, know. Wrong again PD.
RogerT Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 What was the last match that Batley had Mr C Worsley officiating.
Bill H Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 (edited) Sorry, an old man moment, clearly the wrong thread! Edited September 18, 2024 by Bill H 1
phildog Posted September 17, 2024 Author Posted September 17, 2024 I think, but don't quote me, Widnes or the home game prior Rog.
RogerT Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Thanks Phil Widnes as been mentioned by somebody else, as you know I have not attended any of Batley's matches since the away match at Barrow, I might just go to the last home match.
phildog Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 Worsley, pretty fair ref I think, the lad who did this last weekend is good as well. Surprisingly, he comes from Yarm, further north than me and not a league stronghold.

phildog Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 I believe that was a tough judge error KTF, if that's what you're referring to. Who would have kicked a 50 yarder though? Only Hooley would have had enough hump for it. We need to be more concerned about converting tries.

Woods he was hitting them from halfway in the warm up when we were watching Also his drop goals http://tombatley.wordpress.com/ Give it a read..

It certainly isn't very wide and I doubt the half way line would really be 50 metres or yards

Dogs Bawls Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Judging by the pitch marking the distance between the posts is approximately 86 meters 8 x 10 meter sections and 2 x 3 meter sections 43 meter straight on kick not all that difficult IMO
Bill H Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 It's good to see Hooley in the squad despite his having played on Friday. I hope that as many fans as possible make it to the last home league game of the season. 1
RogerT Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Who was it that did that little chip over that led to Manning's try, it was very delicate. Whitehaven gave Batley a stiff test if they had, had 4 interchanges then I believe the score would have been closer. I sincerely hope they survive.
