Oh to avoid being 9th next season

Recommended Posts

Hopefully the chairman will clarify ,but seen somewhere that next season will consist of the following.

Championship will have 13 teams

Play offs will revert to top 8

Super 8s come into effect,bottom 4 championship/top 4 league one

All great and good making changes but I'd imagine alot of clubs will scramble to not finish 9th as your season ends at regular season end and ultimately your the only club of 13 that lose out on extra games /income ,like the championship wasn't bizarre enough already

Thoughts ??

We all want us to be in the top 8 next year and that should be our goal but I'd take 9th next season and I bet the busted up players probably would as well even if it means missing out on another game or two.

Swings and roundabouts. Oldham  coming up but London Broncos, Halifax and Sheffield seem to be going through crises of one form or another and might need to go through a regrouping phase.

Bit of a shock today Hunslet winning at Keighley to play Swinton next weekend

Very much. Keighley were in charge for the first 20 minutes but then, after Hunslet surprised them by scoring first, they completely lost their heads.

Attendance didn't look too impressive either.

I wonder if there's any truth in the talk about several Swinton players being on holiday?

That might make things uncomfortable at the very least.

Add that to if they aren't allowed any DR from saints ( not sure if they are on not? ) they might struggle to name a team!

I could suggest they play the COVID card but that would be flippant.

I think Ritson, Vaughan and Cowen have played enough games to play, maybe Burns as well
