glemiln
Such an important win, by a point. Bad enough following from afar - must have been more than a few twitches sitting at Spotland! Discipline could have cost us again - one off each side, I know and seemingly started by Crusaders man - but that's possibly a second winger absent at this critical time. Well done for hanging in there.

Pedro
From what I saw Crusaders winger Turner ran about 10 yards and started thumping Bloomfield. No idea why as nowhere near the ball. Bloomfield retaliated and both were sent off. A good win but very close. Crusaders dropped the ball twice with the line open.

mickhornet
No way should Hornets have won. I could not believe Cru bombing 3 tries they had us on toast. What a terrific game though. Oldham home and hosed it looks like.We have to win our last 4 games to make 5th place i would think.Even then i dont know.
excolt
If we can get a win next Saturday at Oxford the top teams play each other on Sunday, it might look healthier after theyve knocked 10 bells out of each other.
Pedro
Goal kicking was another factor in this win with Paul Crook kicking 3/4 ( and a drop goal by Yates) compared with Johnson 1/4.

Can only assume Bloomfield said something derogatory back to Turner as the NW player turned and ran back a good few yards to start throwing punches (not even taking the time to square up....he just launched in) Retaliation or self defence from Bloomfield? Turner wasn't for letting up on the punches.
Pedro
Agree with you mch re self defence. I will be very interested to see what the RFL Disciplinary make of it although I can hazard a guess given their recent record with our players.

swann5
Turner hit Bloomfield for stamping on his head in a previous tackle, it was not seen by ref. u stamp on some ones head your asking for it. on a lighter note thank you for all the Rochdale people who came to the aid of Tom one of our elderly fans who collapsed out side the ground after the game hitting his head, every one who came to his help from Rochdale did a great job thank you from Norh Wales Crusaders supporters. Neophyte Hornet
Brilliant Game , Nice to see Crusaders bring a few fans , they were a lively bunch, certainly added to the atmosphere .. Missed most of the punch up,too busy watching the ball (which was 50 ft away lol ...) Not too bothered about creating a 'Witch Hunt' we are more professional than that.... Got too boo Turner who looked very annoyed leaving the pitch and Bloomers seemed to take it on the chin (literally) Didn't affect the game too much... Can't wait till next home game #StingEmHornets ... http://twitter.com/vinnieclough !!!!! ROCHDALE HORNETS !!!!!! R

gogledd
The match officials took action to send of TWO players. Once from Cru and one from Hornets - so both players equally to blame, Can I reiterate our gratitude to all at Hornets for the help and care given to Tom, an elderly Crusaders Supporter. The North Wales Supporters Club have contacted Rochdales CEO to express our gratitude. Whatever the result, its good to see that fans come first and we can look after each other, I can report that Tome to went to hospital for a check up, hes a bit battered and bruised but is now on the mend. I'm hopeful he'll be well enough to be at the Racecourse again on Sunday.

Pedro
This is what RFL Disciplinary said about the incident which involved Crusaders Joe Burke: Dangerous Contact in the 64th minute (Bridge) Decision- No charge. Details of Charge / Reason for NF Rule – 15.1(i) Detail – Defending player, in or after effecting a tackle, uses any part of his body forcefully to bend or apply unnecessary pressure to the head and/or neck and/or spinal column of the tackled player so as to keep the tackled player at a disadvantage in or after the tackle. Player underhooks opponent from behind with tight grip. Player does not release tight grip as opponent is taken to ground in a seated position leading to pressure potentially being applied to the head or neck area. Technique worthy of MRP Caution. I hope that Danny Bridge is not out for a few weeks as we will miss him.
glemiln
Appears that Bloomfield may get one match suspension or none? RFL = "NFA - 1. Early Guilty Plea offered and accepted NFA." However he seems still to be recovering from the incident and may miss Oxford at Hemel. Our injuries/suspensions could not come at worse time - if there is ever a good one in this tight top section. Hopefully, we can ride them out to the play-offs and things are then better.
