The Baron Mk11
Just seen a tweet from 18th Man picked up from Yorkshire Radio, "Bradford Bulls could go into administration within 48 hours" That will put the cat amongst the pigeons. Seems strange, the last thing I read was they were negotiating with the council to buy back Odsall. QUIS CUSTODIAT IPSOS CUSTODES
roughyed34
Their chairman has issued a big statement, also yesterday I think, makes interesting reading. http://www.totalrl.com/green-insists-bradfords-intention-stay-full-time-2017/
The Baron Mk11
It certainly does. I suppose we will have to wait and see now, but he didn't sound like a bloke who is on the verge of administration did he? roughyed34
No definately not, seems to have upset Bradford fans by kind of blaming them though.Could be turbulent times for a few clubs after recent events at some clubs, Sheffield,York,Bradford all under the pump. Interesting to see how it all pans out.
Anonymouse
the bottom 8 in this league should be with the top 4 of the champ 1 , that is the only fair platform for the part time clubs in my view , well without the bulls maybe .
andykenny
Being a ex speedway rider and more latterly a stock car driver I do not really have a lot of sympathy with the position the bulls are in. The motor sports were ended in the nineties when there were plans to make it a superdome. When that did not come off The Bulls decided to go it alone and built those stupid corporate type stands . Odsal was modernised in the eighties not just on the back of RL but Speedway world finals and Stock cars. And the biggest crowds in Odsal since the 80s will have been for the motorsports. Anyway over the years west yorks has been crying out for speedway and stock cars and with pitch technology today it could be made to work.As late as 2014 there were firm proposals in place to make it work. Not only did the bulls/rl turn down the revenue ,the plate track perimeter fence was sold for scrap. If its administration again its further proof odsal needs to be multi use. What right has Bulls /RL to prevent big Speedway and stock car events in odsal when they can't pay their own way in there? In the nearly 20 years motorsports have been absent there could have been 80-100 stox meetings and 400+ speedway meetings plus the big championship meetings for both sports. All that revenue lost and all the spending at local shops ,pubs ,eateries. I will always watch Oldham but I do not like what has happened to my other sports at odsal one bit. roughyed34
Something to do with a VAT assessment according to Bradford, they think its not a problem and will be resolved. After spending two periods in 2012 and 2014 under administration, clearly something is wrong over the hill. Overspending?Full time? Odsal? Who knows, its what happens when clubs are so desperate to reach the SL promised land,Leigh would be in the same boat without Beaumont after spending a fortune on players.Dangerous game for clubs, they have to spend to acheive promotion but also maintain the future of the clubs. Fine line between boom and bust.
john in oz
That's notice that a winding up order is being sought by the Tax Office. All other creditors will now come crawling out of the woodwork.
tandle
the winding up application will have been posted in the London gazette. the banks will have all ready frozen their accounts so they can only use accounts that are in the black. but if you are in the black and have loans the banks will take the money to off set against any loans. so a with a very large full time squad and staff looks like the directors are going to have to dig deep to keep going. HomeOfTheTubularBandage
A winding up petition means nothing. If it did our club would be long gone. Banks shouldn't act yet.
tandle
the minute the winding up action goes into the London gazette thats when the banks close your overdraft facility I can assure you that is fact
