Sporting derby is “a game between two rivals of close geographic proximity”. Would anyone call Liverpool v Man U or Leeds v Sheffield (in any code) a derby game? Ive never heard that. Robina to Townsville is much further than Wigan to Warsaw. If Vlandys ever expands NRL to the ex Soviet Union we would have the russian derby……Leningrad v Vladivostok - a mere 9500kms.

Thursday night at Suncorp is a disaster for Dolphins. 10.15 train from Milton Station. One hour train ride to Kippa-Ring too late to get buses to get to Redcliffe from there. All this with work/school the day after. And its on free to air TV. Weather was great for Titans game..about time folks stopped referring to this as a derby though. Only two teams are further from CBUS than Cowboys.

The broncos squad was top heavy with young talent that had implications for salary cap moving forward. He scored 17 tries in one season after which holbrook decided to move him to Centre. That was a disaster. He is doing what he sees as best for his career and family. Good luck to him…he has always conducted himself in a professional manner and avoided the ‘headlines’ . With an almost blank slate of games in the league this weekend (why I wonder) there is a big game locally in the NCL. Mayfield at home to West Hull, 3 v 2, Should be a good un.

They werent led by Vlandys 30 years ago were they? 30 years ago we had great britain and kangaroo tours. If it doesnt make money for NRL it wont happen under Vlandys NRL
