I can't remember any of it, but it was pleasant.

It did it's job. I had to concentrate on a woodwork job, but was able to drift in and out of Jeremy vine, the bloke who is standing in for Steve Wright and Simon Mayo.

There are some good shows on radio 2 actually. I adore Paul Jones' blues show, and Bob Harris has changed my view of country music right round. I'm just getting into Clare Teal's big band show and don't mind dipping into Jamie Culum. I also prefer the Mark Ratcliffe version of the folk show. Mike Harding gave me a rash...professional northerner allergy

Did anyone come across a song they shouldn't like from a genre they've tended to avoid - maybe my love of music is wider than I thought but this one is ....one of those that came in over the wall and I've no idea how,

I'm informed by Maximus Decimus that this is an example of cultural appropriation but I can live with that for a good version of a good song!:D

Marley was a big supporter of the punk movement and in particular the clash - he even had a poster of them on his studio wall. I reckon he would have approved of this version. Bad brains also cite strummer and the clash as being massive influences on them forming a band and writing about social issues. I'm not sure if that counteracts the cultural appropriation tag or not but if bob didn't mind then neither do I!

Manic Street Preachers - New Art Riot.

Title track from their debut EP. I've been putting together a manic's top 50 (it's a thing with my brother) and although this is somewhere in the middle it's got a nagging riff that I can't get out of my head. It also highlights how brilliant Richeys lyrics were even this early in their career - 'hospital closures kill/more than car bombs ever will'
