Should be a good game tonight - always tight affairs between Fax and Widnes. Be good to see supporters of SL teams at The Shay again.

The weather is scorching here in Bradford at the minute, we might have to find a beer garden sooner rather than later.

Halifax will line up as follows:

Black, Ostick, Wrench, Barlow, Larder, Goddard, Royston, Nash, Worrincy, Branighan, Beswick, Cherryholme and Patterson.

The referee is Mr Drizza from France and the kick-off is imminent with around 3,200 in the crowd.

stiff wants to know where you're claiming to be standing as they are having trouble spotting you. Thats if your really attending this time and not just pretending for your internet audience. :D:rolleyes:

Halifax RLFC 0-12 Widnes Vikings after 24:00 minutes.

Flynn with the second Vikings score in the corner which was reminiscent to the Peter Fox try at Craven park Saturday gone, with the looping cut-out pass missing three players before finding the wingman with acres of space to touch down.

Halifax RLFC 6-12 Widnes Vikings after 31:00 minutes.

Penky with a Jimmy Lowes special from the quick penalty tap 5m out and it all comes from so serious poor Widnes discipline as the penalty count racks up heavily against the Vikings.

Shad Royston with the second Halifax try after a Branighan 40/20 (remember he got two last week in the game vs Barrow) and more so a wonder inside pass from Ben Black which sees Royston with too much space and toe to breach the Widnes line.

Lee Patterson 2/2.

Go on then Matt...as a mate of Mick's, where do you think he is?

Some pub in Bradford, screening the game, that he knew you wouldn't be in perhaps?

You never know, he may just be at the game....

he does have previous for that stunt :D

reason I asked is that 'stiff' I mentioned in 1st post is a fax fan from our pub who IS at the game and he wants to meet up with mick. Yet mick is strangely ignoring the posts on here and also txts to his phone ( which he must have with him to be posting on here). Certainly seems like mick isnt at game to me. :O

Gets my vote

A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.

He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.

And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

A disgraceful 26 man brawl to finish off with. nearly cleaned out the SKY cameraman at one point. When the ref went to the video ref (Cummings) for advice I think he told him to send Sorensen and Tamati off.

I thought the french guy did a good job tonight, certainly looked up to Terry Halibut's level. Might there be two french refs in SL next year?

Tuned in for the last 15 mins (stopped watching the whole Thurs games since annual P&R went up the spout)

Was a good end to the game and a great brawl :O

Proper Rugby League

I note that Fax's ground is looking great. If they can get to the NL1 final again surely they are a shoe-in for SL, unless Barrow win it. Widnes just haven't done enough on the pitch to merit consideration for SL and their stadium is not better than Fax's anymore

What is the score with youth set-ups in NL1. Don't all the top clubs in NL1 have an academy system?

Will that be the same Shay that has had a stand closed since March due to safety fears, and requires significant funds spending on maintaining it that the council doesn't have to spare?

Once a Team / Club has qualified for the right to apply for Super League, which so far Widnes, Barrow and Fax have, then you don't get any more Licence points if you qualify again ( although i'm sure the RFL would look on your application more favourably. )

Widnes do, can't answer for anyone else sorry.

Maybe other CC Club's fans can let us know if they have or not ?

NB It's now called The Co-operative Championship, or CC for short. It hasn't been NL1 for around 3 years. ;)
