Bearman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Has anyone signed up for this? They are saying 16 games a month which is good value. The downside is the NRL season will soon be over and there is a one off set up charge of Ron Banks Midlands Hurricanes and Barrow
Northern Sol Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Will think about it for next year but don't see much point for this year.

gingerjon Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Does it have anything other than GAA and NRL? Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)
terrywebbisgod Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Does it have anything other than GAA and NRL? Sailing and some rallying Thank you for your valuable contribution.
gingerjon Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Sailing and some rallying I'll pass I think. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)
thirteenthman Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I've been watching the matches on Premier all season, so I've signed up. The annoying thing is though, the most important match of the season, the Grand Final, won't even be on there. Sky are showing it. Anyway it'll only be on for 2 months. Come October when the NRL and GAA have finished, they'll have nowt left to show anyway!
brooza Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I'd get it if it was on Virgin It's a rolling 1 month contract, as they realise that NRL/GAA fans would likely only want the channel for their respective sports so have made it easy for people to cancel during the off season Check out upcoming international fixtures and highlights of past matches at http://rlfixtures.weebly.com St Albans Centurions International Liaison Officer and former Medway Dragons Wheelchair RL player.Leeds Rhinos, St Albans Centurions y Griffons Madrid fan. Also follow (to a lesser extent) Catalans Dragons, London Broncos, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Jacksonville Axemen, Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels, København Black Swans, Red Star Belgrade and North Hertfordshire Crusaders.Moderator of the International board
jackknife Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 when does the free viewing run out? iv watched all season and when you think about it like COME ON THE CORN CLASSY CAS 4EVA Go Go Go York City Knights!
shrek Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I'd get it if it filled the Rugby void over the Winter months, but 6.99 on top of my existing Sky subs becomes hard to justify.

bendyas Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 There's a nice places accross the tasman somewhere that shows the games / magazine shows. A little delayed but meh.

Chariots Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 With SKY doing the Thursdaynight highlights show now Im not as bothered
Tommy The C5t Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 With SKY doing the Thursdaynight highlights show now Im not as bothered That's about as much use as Martin Offiahs Super League round up.
TBC Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 It's worth it just for the commentary alone. Light years ahead of Eddie and Stevo.
Amber Avenger Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 It'll be on MSK next year It will still be on Sky - IIRC it's part of the same deal that NRL signed with MSK - that Sky get State Of Origin, Round by Round Highlights and the Grand Final for the length of the contract that MSK has everything else SQL Honours Play off mini league winner - 2002. Bronze Medalist - 2003. Big Split Group Winner - 2006. Minor Stupidship - 2005, 2006. Cup Silver Medalist - 2008, 2009 CHAMPION - 2005, 2009, 2010

It would be great news if they could because the Sky coverage is utter trash.

It would be great news if they could because the Sky coverage is utter trash. Unless the channel finds something to show over the winter months, they might not even be around this time next year. I would imagine that the deal with Sky might last for more than the 1 season anyway. Also, apart from the pre-match and half-time, which I never bother watching anyway, Sky's coverage of the GF and SOO comes from Channel 9. Exactly the same as any other broadcaster that wanted to show it in this country.

Thinking about it - there is no reason they can't show it as secondary broadcasters, but Sky will still show it as well - plus they have the added bonus of HD SQL Honours Play off mini league winner - 2002. Bronze Medalist - 2003. Big Split Group Winner - 2006. Minor Stupidship - 2005, 2006. Cup Silver Medalist - 2008, 2009 CHAMPION - 2005, 2009, 2010
Tommy The C5t Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Thinking about it - there is no reason they can't show it as secondary broadcasters, but Sky will still show it as well - plus they have the added bonus of HD Which I experienced for the first time on Saturday evening. I'll be getting a new HD tv in time for the four nations for sure now that Sky have gone to HD on all four sports channels and even HD on Sky Sports News.
GazCoops Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 My folks are looking at cutting their Sky costs, so there is no chance of me convinving them to subscribe to this, and I only manage to get to watch 1 game a week, so won't be paying for it myself.
