Technical help with this forum

In recent weeks I have been unable to access this forum on my phone through 4G, it always takes me to a 404 landing page, yet as soon as I try to access it via wifi there are no issues.

 

Anybody have any advice on how to fix this, or is it a forum issue?

Not exactly the same issue Dave but I find this forum drops out quite a bit if I access it through a Kindle Fire. It doesn't seem to happen on any other website apart from this forum.

Is it just the forum, or the entire totalrl.com domain you can't access via 4G?

 

Try viewing the main site at http://www.totalrl.comand the shop section at http://shop.totalrl.com and let me know what you see. If they don't work either, if you can email me a screen shot of the error page/message to webmaster@totalrl.com that would be useful.

 

If they do work, and it's just a forum issue, let me know.

 

Also, try putting the device on airplane mode, clear the memory of the browser on your device, and close/restart the browser, then turn off airplane mode and reconnect to your 4G network. See if that makes any difference viewing the forum.

 

Finally for now, try downloading the 'IPB Buddy' app and see if you can connect to the forum using that. Not as a permanent solution, I'm just trying to establish if the error is local to the the site, the forum, the network, the device or the browser.

 

I'll move this thread to AOB in the meantime.

I get it as well occasionally on the mobile site but the main site works fine.

Yes, it is only the forum on my mobile, and only when through 3/4g. Rest of site works fine.

Will have a play around later and follow John's instructions, thanks for the advice.

I've always found that when dealing with technology that doesn't work a good thump often solves the problem.

I also get this issue occasionally. Always fine on wifi but can be dodgy on mobile connection.

Tested today:

4G blank screen.

3G banner fine. Forum bits 404 error

Wifi fine.

I've just applied an update to the forum, to see if that makes any difference.

 

Can those people having trouble with it please give it another whirl now and see if it has made any difference?

 

If not, post here and I'll raise a tech support request with the vendors.
