I don't believe it. No player who leaves the NRL for SL is ever good enough to return.

Mark 'Spud' Carroll came to London Broncos did not perform well always seemed to be injured, BUT went home to play for South Sydney and if memory serves correctly got selection for NSW.

He has been very poor for Wigan and has been the type of signing that gives imports a bad name. Big money, big name but he has treated Super League like a joke and is just here for a big pay cheque with little interest in getting fit and playing well.

And here’s Liam Farrell, writing that he sympathises with him, thought he was a good pro who helped the young blokes at Wigan, ripped into training and appeared fitter than last year and that it was good to have around the team.

My mail is he will play for Western Suburbs in local Newcastle comp

Out of interest What Can a club like that pay him? Surely he was on at least 70k at Wigan and to walk away from the contract means a big loss of Income. A club in a Newcastle Based comp won't be able to pay much but might find him a job?

You’ve got to separate his performances from character and attitude. We saw evidence of the former, and can only speculate on the latter. He seemed to lose any impact when he slimmed down, and impact was his whole game. He could have worked his socks off and either just not had it any more or maybe the training he was doing was counterproductive. Oz players often comment on the different physiques of players after a year or two in the SL, maybe he’s another example of one it just didn’t suit. Good luck to him in Newcastle, I hope it works out for him and his family.
