Rumours going around the village that Golborne Parkside owe HMRC in excess of £50,000. Not a good position to be in for an amateur sports club. There is a GoFundMe page somewhere but I can't find it!

It's hard to believe that an amateur club could owe so much. I hope they get it sorted.

That’s a huge amount of money for an amateur club to owe. I’m surprised it’s been allowed to get as bad as this.

They do have a social club employers NI wages, VAT etc could be

Seems a ridiculous amount to rack up, even if they do have a social club. Most clubs of that scale will normally only have one full time employee and run on the bare bones of an operating profit. If it really is that much I'd have thought it must be a long standing error going back a while that they're trying to recoup. Not a nice situation for them to be in, I hope they can sort it out.

It's a long time since I played for them (before they had the new clubhouse). You'd hope that this is an error rather burying your head and ignoring but I have no idea how it's all structured.

I also didn't know they had pigeons...

I suppose the main question would be "how has it been allowed to get to these proportions?". I hope for the sake of all that support and play for the club they can get it sorted. Good luck to them.
