For a lot of the people applauding, it will be as much about giving themselves a bit of a lift and feeling less isolated, just by doing something social. Being part of something communal, after a couple of weeks of being shut up most of the day and shunning contact. Each to their own.

didn't have the gusto of last week round these parts and soon died out, bring on social unrest

The wife was out clapping for the NHS. I told her bluntly that if she gives me the clap that there’d be a few blunt questions asked...

I’d like to see all the clapping turn into people voting for better funding. Kind of putting their money where their clap is....then the cynical side of me.... well wetherspoons won’t be closing any pubs down soon

Clapping doesn't fund the NHS tax does.

Pay your tax (Rich Barstewards), like the rest of us, and fund the NHS properly.
