Carcassonne looking strong.

Canaris the team to beat come June time. Villeneuve up & down. Missed Robin in the halves. Marguerite the only one from TO quartet on show. The experienced Masselot and Tabu upfront kept the visitors in contention in first half. Avignon did the same the week before too. Enjoyed both of those games. We need all six qualifiers to turn up come May time.

Lézignan-Corbières v villeneuve sur lot today at 15h30 french time on the clubs website or Facebook.

Interesting  to see how the new VSL coach has shaped the team.  Could be a big win for you lads if he hasn’t.

A bit odd there. Last weekend Villeneuve had one of the TO recruits in Marguerite. Today he is missing but the other 3 are lined-up this afternoon Mika, Kriouache and Robin. Visiters on paper look better armed.

What’s the deal with marguerite? He looked so promising for Toulouse in the last 2 seasons before signing for Catalan and now he’s playing elite1 rugby league.

You never know what certain players come up with. Another example being Dezaria returning to Catalans. He has impressed McNamara who has given him a second go in Perpignan after Leigh and Toulouse. Good to see though Marguerite in the French WC group.

Hopefully he can force his way back into the squad of either the dragons or Toulouse like Dezaria.

interesting to read that another former dragon Gambaro was also named in the French WC training group. Had a short stint with barrow in 2019 I think.

Carcassonne's game today v bottom placed side St Gaudens is a late virus casualty leaving just the Villeneuve-Palau (to be streamed KO 5pm GMT) .There are two regular rounds still to be played and just one weekend after that before the Play Offs start on the last week of the month 29/30 May. St Gaudens game scheduled today has been called off several times and the 'Ours' have only played 14 games so far. There's now no  available weekends for them to play four games.

The much awaited Lezignan fixture against St Esteve has also been called off twice now. They will now expect to play it on the only free weekend available 22/23 May. The hope now is that game will be open to spectators for the first time since early last year. (1,000 is being talked about))

St Gaudens gone again today - not receiving Villeneuve/Lot. Impossible for them now to complete fixtures? The latter wil qualify for play-offs regardless but Avignon who are challenging them for 5th spot need to play the 'Ours' too. Will the  Federation delete all St Gaudens results.

The last Aude 'derby' regular season this afternnon KO 4.30pm GMT at Albert Domec CXIII v Limoux. In Perpignan St Esteve v Avignon KO 5.00pm GMT should be a decent game too. Albi host neighbours TO Elite at home KO 6.00pm GMT. All 3 games to be streamed. Hear that the Championship Final on the w/e 19/20 June will be covered by Toulouse based channel viàOccitanie. No venue decided yet.

Would seem a bit harsh to delete their results due to three matches that couldn't be played because of Covid?

Jon - St Gaudens have to play Limoux (A), Villeneuve (H), Carcassonne (A) and Avignon (A) all teams who are already qualified for the play-offs but still challenging each other for places.

Avignon surprised St Esteve in Perpignan 30-38 even without Gigot and Jouffret. Some poor handling early doors  caught the youngsters out. Better late on with Le Cam and Rougé much in view.

Carcassonne too surprised by Limoux 12-16. Interesting that the Grizzlies lost both home games to FCL and the Canaris but won away. The 6 audois 'derbys' this year impressive.

TO Elite fell away against Albi after a sending-off. Level at the break but finished 48-24 .Interesting that one of the best try scorers this term is the Albi flyer No2 Pedrero. Only second to FCL's No.5 Ferret.

Just watched the STE v Avignon game and I’ve got to say it was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.  STE discipline with and without the ball was nothing short of diabolical.

Avignon defence was quite good at times but STE’s errors made it easier.

That performance reflects on the coaches.  They had the opportunity to address that standard at half time but nothing changed.

Any info on Pedrero mate?

former dragons academy player? Age? Height? Etc.

could he potentially step up to championship level with Toulouse or super league level with the dragons?

Pedrero been around for a couple seasons I think. Albi very close to Toulouse so they would know who's available/good enough. Against Widnes Sunday TO played three Elite 1 players Garcia, Salabio and Flovie. The latter a winger from Catalans reserves team. Presently two of TO's wingers are injured Bergal and Marcon the latter out for the season.

Is the Garcia the younger brother of Benjamin?

I don't think so. The Catalan's captain is from a small town Apt in Provence. Talking about wingers TO Elite have two teenagers playing in those positions presently Depeyre and Laguerre. The latter though played his first Championship game on the wing at Halixfax.

It seems that St Gaudens will after all complete their season. After this weekends game away at Limoux the 'Ours' (bears) will play 3 games between in eight days 22nd May to the 30th. It looks like the play-offs will  start a week later on the 5th-6th June.

Taking the Championship Final to Ernest Wallon on 20th June seems a logical move. The evolving relationship now between ST and TO lends itself to this decision I think. Last played at EW in 2006 Pia - TO (21-18). Think Trent Robinson was involved in that game player-coach?

Elsewhere Hakim Miloudi signing for Barrow. He gets around a bit. Recently at Hull FC, Doncaster and Toronto.
