jroyales Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Is there going to be a Law Cup game this season. Nice to get the year off to a winning start.
jroyales Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Why ever not? Cheating Chase has gone, so the game will be played by gentlemen respecting the true rules of our great game.
Anita Bath Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Its hornets v oldham……not Oxford v Cambridge
shrewsbury roughyed Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 I try - unsuccessfully- not to get too excited about pre-season friendlies. Last year (was it last year?) I was flooded with optimism and excitement after a draw that could easily have been a win against Super League (for now) Wakefield. And then the season began...

Joe 90 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Rochdale Hornets will travel to the Vestacare Stadium to take on local rival Oldham, for the Law Cup, on January 29 as preparations for the 2023 Betfred League 1 campaign continue.

This should not be on a thread headed “friendly”…no hornets yeds encounter is ever friendly. Its a pre season battle for bragging rights until good friday. Let battle commence. Cumon ornits.
jroyales Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Interesting footnote to the Derby. It's been played since 1921 and of the 69 meetings, Oldham have won it 46 to Rochdale's 21 with 2 drawn. Also, over the last 10 meetings the average winning margin has been just 9 points. It would be nice if all of those who use the forums could meet up for a drink before the game to put faces to non-de-plumes i.e. false names for those who don't speak Yonner!
sheddingswasus Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 It was originally the Infirmary Cup with all proceeds split between Oldham & Rochdale Infirmaries in pre NHS days
