It was closer than it should have been.

England were very dominant in the first half, but the French lads crept back into the match in the 2nd half. A penalty try made it a 1 score game at 26-20 but then the drop with 5mins to go was quick thinking. The try in the corner after the hooter made it look comfortable. I think there were at least 4 mistakes at PTB by the English. The English lad kicking was good, a bit of luck with one off the posts and some clever kicking from the restarts. Lots of handbags during the match, some unnecessary willy waving, but what do you expect with so much testosterone swilling about?

He has played half a dozen times covering injuries, but maybe only once this year. Just signed a new 3 year contract, so we will hopefully see more of him in first team action soon.

The head coach Paul Anderson said," I've got to commend for France too. They just kept on coming. It was the kind of test we needed. It got close for comfort at one point, but we need  games likes that. We need the challenge."

The English team had 5 players from St Helens

No just two in the squad, the Catalan don't have an academy, they play U19s like carca, toulouse, Lézignan etc,

How many of these players will get picked up by Catalans?
They seem pretty close to England’s level at this age group so hopefully quite a few should make it through to SL

Not sure, i believe the full back has been contacted, I think he's keen to go to Australia for a season, same for a couple of the props, the number 15 who came on is looking for a club in England,

Most of these players would be interested in a stint in England but it's difficult to get picked up or find a club.

My son just told me the full back and prop are flying to Sydney tomorrow for a couple of months training over there with the roosters u20s. Great news.

The link may be with Trent Robinson and his closeness to the Dragons and Steve McNamara

Interestingly probably the 2 best lads from Saints Academy this year weren't playing for England. Prop Noah Stephens missed out through injury and half back Will Roberts has been playing in the Championship for Swinton when there hasn't been an Academy game, but seemingly didn't get picked for England (though he did go off injured against Widnes the other week so may also have not been fit).

Jammes wore 1 but played in the halves, grifier played full back but wore the number 6 shirt.

Kouassi is flying out with Enzo griffier, he's from Villeneuve, griffier is from salon de Provence
