As those of you who participate on Facebook will have seen, John Bell sadly passed away this week. 

John was a York RL supporter for 65+ years and was a regular contributer to this site. A friend to many, John's enthusiasm for the greatest game will be sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements yet to be announced.

So sorry to hear that Peter. Thank you for letting us know. Another good supporter and proper Rugby League man gone.

I should add that many people on this forum may have only known John as " Spanish Knight".

Yes sad news, I will miss reading his posts, you could tell he was a rugby league enthusiast by what he wrote, and he did mentionin the past that  he had some health issues. Rest in peace John.

Nice touch today , a seat was reserved for john today at the back of the east stand showing a framed photo , replica shirt etc also chanting and applause when 76 mins was observed on the scoreboard , well done to all involved , R I P JOHN.

The funeral of John Bell will take place at York Crematorium on Monday 26th February at 3.0.  Following this, Knights fans and all John's friends are invited to The Bootham Tavern to celebrate John's life.
