Batley Bulldogs V Featherstone Rovers MOM thread

Recommended Posts

Start of a new season sees the visit if Fev in 1895 Cup with both teams having to rebuild so a game that will be hard to predict.

Voting as usual 1 2 3

Will endeavour to keep this up to date this season as had a very busy year last year home and work

So many to choose from; Gledders n Coops were immense, beat there opposing props to pulp IMO. Similarly both 2nd rowers out played theirs, the pack won that game for us but other forces helped them in their jobs. Josh Woods has come in for lots of posts expressing disquiet at his performances but he was outstanding today. More variety to his passing game, confidence in his place kicking, great kicking from hand plus his organisation on field was brilliant, his best game here by far. I hope he takes today's games into the season. Teams looking at us and taking comfort in the fact of who we've lost and thinking that Batley will be an easier could just be changing that impression. For me;

Woods

Gledhill

Manning

Once again the boys show outstanding resilience the defensive effort today was fantastic, an all round brilliant team performance! I'm picking on defensive effort today!

Walshaw (must have done 60 tackles) even the radio Leeds mentioned it,

Manning (the usual animal as ever)

Moore (ran hard all day)

Excellent performance from the guys, can't count how many sets they defended on our own line!

1. Walshaw - Immense all game

2. Manning - similar to walshaw

3. Leak - Was an animal at the start of the game with his tackling.

I think all three of these set the foundation of the defence early on and helped give us the chance of a win.
