Anita Bath
So we will be the first visitors to play at the Athletics stadium on Sunday after Midlands move from the warm up track. Good for them…hope it helps them boost attendences. but might be an idea to take binoculars.

But credit to Midlands for the work they are doing in lifting the profile of Rugby League.
Big Doug
We will have to be on our game. Midlands are a good team this season I think. 1 I HAVE NEVER GONE TO BED WITH AN UGLY WOMAN. BUT I HAVE WOKEN UP WITH A FEW
glemiln
Seems they gave their dual registered opponents Sheffield a good game in the 1895 cup - a bit of biff/dissent too, with each team a yellow! The 345 attendance would have looked even less on their stadium. Dave Hewitt and some big lads will need to be watched.

Joe 90
Great result and a good entertaining game yesterday. As suspected, Midlands are a decent team but Hornets stuck at the task and got the result. I was surprised by the stadium, much better view and closer to the action than I expected, with top class facilities. A great place to visit.

Brummie Hornet
Unfortunately I couldn’t get to the game even though it was in “home turf” for me. Looks like a solid win to start the season
Yorks Tim
..and I missed our last trip to the Century Oil Stadium but looking forward to visiting on Sunday. Should be a close game with both teams capable of winning. As those of you who have made the trip down to the Alexander know, Hurricanes fans expect only the finest dining on a matchday and I'm wondering what to expect at Rochdale for those of us not in hospitality. Can I get a beer / burger / pie etc?

The Lad
Sometimes it's not about looking good, it's about winning. We looked to be rushing all through the game, First half we never settled and made poor decisions with the ball. Second half we took control of the game and was able to get the win. One of the positives was how many times we crossed the line even though we didn't score we were able to open midlands up.
Tyrone Shoelaces
We did it the hard way today against a very dogged and determined Hurricanes side. There was too many poor decisions made and we were panicking near their line. How we managed to blow that 3 on 1 in the first half I don’t know. A perfect example - we had them pinned on the last tackle half way into their half. They kicked and a Hornets player ran into the kicker. It wasn’t much at all but their guy made the most of it and went down like he’d been hit with a bus. Even the dogs in the street know you can’t make contact with the kicker. So from being on their 25 we were defending from where the ball landed on our 25. We can’t make mistakes like that next week.

You could see the lads had a different mindset after the break, stopped rushing things and managed the game to a great result. More to come from this team I think. Great effort from all the loan players in a difficult game to debut in.

Great effort from all the loan players in a difficult game to debut in. We definitely had a better game plan in the second half. Running in harder and straighter, instead of running across the pitch as in the first half. The new out half had a quiet game but that’s understandable given he barely knows the players. He kicked well for goal though. Those goals were crucial at the end.
Excolt 1
One of the biggest teams I’ve seen this season. All the tackling took a lot out of them and keeping that up in the second half was just too much for a team that will push Keighley all the way next Sunday. It would be good to open another bar against Oldham this week . Any news on Wilkinson and Openshaw and Tonks

We defended brilliantly to keep you out in the first half although you would probably have been ahead with better choices in the final 20 metres. You kept going to your left edge and losing the plot. The back-to-back tries turned the game but you were lucky to keep us out in the final minutes. Good game for the neutral fan perhaps but rather nerve-shredding for those of us who are committed. It's only a game after all and the important thing is that your pie and chips offering is excellent and I look forward to our next visit. Good luck for ther rest of the season.

Any news on Wilkinson and Openshaw and Tonks Looking forward to next week game, is there any chance Micky Ridyard will be fit? I hope the Oldham support give the Oldham A team the respect they deserve. where as Wilko been for you this season, he was probably our best player last season and I thought he would be the main man for the hairnets with Micky ridyard? I believe he would have done a better job than our dummy half’s this season.
