Fev (A) next up

Recommended Posts

At one time you would have put this down as deffo fev win! No disrespect but fev ain't the team they used to be and we have sprung a few surprises up at fev over the last few years  fev ain't been great this year, we will need to be at our best, but fev are definitely there for the taking! ! Expecting a close one conditions could be tough if it's a warm afternoon, hoping the ref doesn't spoil what could be a good game! Let's get plenty over and support the boys! Up the mighty BULLDOGS!

You're not wrong when you say we aren't same team ,we don't know half of em  lol. Suspensions and injuries ( like most teams) and we aren't clicking as a team. Batley's beat us at Fev when we had a good team so should beat us tomorrow. Just hope it's a good game and we try our best, hope to see some over from Batley.

21? Luxury!!!

At Last The 1948 Show, not Monty Python, but you knew that.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Frustrating watch today! Fev nothing special and there for the taking! A great start with a brilliant individual walshaw try in the first 2 mins! Which lead to a pretty good first half from the boys taking control and a deserved half time lead! But yet again a poor second half from the boys the amount of mistakes which fev fed off was unbelievable! Game changer the scrum incident! We got the scrum on our 20m from a great defensive effort woods out on the edge getting treatment scrum formed no one stepped up for woods and we lost out to the stop clock! Penalty to fev who go on to score, Never seen it before and extremely poor from our boys! After that we never got near the fev line because we couldn't hold the ball we must have lost it on the first tackle at least a half dozen times, we are our own worst enemies at times and need to cut out individual and frustrating team errors, a chance missed by the boys today to go top 6,we need to be better and more consistent for the rest of the season if we want to scrape into the top 6 playoffs! starting next week! One more observation on today shocked by the lack of attendance from the fev fans today!

Why were you shocked ? Like you've already stated ,Fev nothing special, loads have stopped attending for various reasons.  Might be better IF we get a full team together, we knew it was going to be a lot tougher season with the players we released. Anyway all the best to Batley a good club.

How did Jimmy Beckett get on? A try and a win.

Zeus Silk looks small for a prop but certainly played above his weight and also got a debut try.

He played well and fit straight in.

Minikin's defence was outstanding as it has been regularly in recent weeks, especially his defensive reads, and his big hit on Senior 15 minutes from the end with the score at 18-16 when Batley were 5 yards out and had tackles in the bag was arguably the key play in the game. That said, I voted for Hardcastle on the Fev forum as number 1 in the MOTM voting as he made numerous big runs in the 2nd half and the first one led immediately to Bussey's try which got Fev back in the game when we were struggling.

Wouldn't disgree with that especially as Hooley was available for the ball out the back, but Minikin has done a string of tackles like that in recent games which have snuffed out opposing attacks, contrast that with some poor reads by our left edge in the first half until Hardy came on. Normally when we've played Batley Woods has been more of a creative threat on the left than White on the right but the side that Minikin has played on has usually been our stronger side defensively especially if Gale's been on the same side, Ford has switched them both a few times to try and shore up the perceived weaker side. Minikin's not the kind of player opposition fans will notice much but in my view he's been one of our better players this season.
