Gav Wilson Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Bit of an odd one this. Doesn't fit the profile of the kind of player the club say they want, but we don't currently have any fit wingers, so needs must I guess? @GavWilson

Wasn't my favourite player in his last stint here - He looked far more interested playing for the Eagles against us than he ever did wearing a York shirt. Maybe things weren't too great behind the scenes when he was with us? Happy for him to prove me wrong though if the rumour is true.

Bit of a strange one, are we so badly off for wingers, is Browny’s injury worse than first thought?
Cam varley Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I always thought we were a winger/Fullback short before the season kicked off I’m happy with this pickup Fit experienced can cover both positions don’t see any harm in this if it’s a deal until the end of the season. 1
AB Knight Posted March 5 Posted March 5 When he played for York before he always carried the ball as if he didn’t want to get injured. Then when I’ve seen him play for Sheffield he seemed to bust a gut. Hopefully it’s the latter if he does sign. I seem to remember his defence was always solid.
Simon Hall Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Wasn't particularly impressed with him in 2021, although he was a lot better than some of the other ex-SL players we got that year who were absolutely dogger. He's been outstanding at Sheffield the past 3 years, especially against us, which has bugged me cos we didn't see that version of him at York. Different coach this time, so if he brings his Sheffield form of about 20 tries a season then I'll be happy. And as last Sunday showed, we need some experienced cover and competition at full-back. 4 http://www.alldesignandprint.co.uk Printing & Graphic Design with Nationwide Service Programmes | Leaflets | Cards | Banners & Flags | Letterheads | Tickets | Magazines | Folders | Brand Identity plus much more Official Matchday Programme Print & Design Partner to York City Knights, Heworth ARLFC, York Acorn RLFC & Hunslet RLFC Official Player Sponsor of Marcus Stock for the 2020 Season
Darwin Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Like you say, he wasn’t great when he played for us. If we get the player that’s played for Sheffield we have a decent winger. Are we looking to sign more? And if so, we might have players playing in their actual positions which will only improve us further. 3

Been a tough start yet again this season with injuries, I think we had about thirteen out last week which doesn't help. 1

only 2 weeks away Posted March 6 Posted March 6 lot of unrest at seagulls, hopefully we get Marshy back 1
YCKBob Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I wasn't all that impressed with BJ-B last time around. He's now 36. Hopefully just a stopgap.

As said totally different coaching set up , the guy can fill in at fullback or wing , also look how keiran dixon is playing under a new set up. 1

I think he's been one of our most solid and dependable players recently. Hope he continues to have a good, injury-free 2025 with us - and best of luck to him with Hull next year. 1
Darwin Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Consistent every week. Nothing fancy, just gets on with the job. A big loss but a great opportunity for him. Congratulations. 1
Simon Hall Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Scott Galeano, a winger/centre from the Queensland Cup has signed until the end of 2026. Looks a prolific tryscorer, 30 tries in 38 for his last club in Oz. Looking forward to seeing him in action. 4 http://www.alldesignandprint.co.uk Printing & Graphic Design with Nationwide Service Programmes | Leaflets | Cards | Banners & Flags | Letterheads | Tickets | Magazines | Folders | Brand Identity plus much more Official Matchday Programme Print & Design Partner to York City Knights, Heworth ARLFC, York Acorn RLFC & Hunslet RLFC Official Player Sponsor of Marcus Stock for the 2020 Season

And that answers the question as to whether Levi Edwards might play in a York shirt again. 4
