Wins for Hunslet and Oldham easiest to call.

Midlands could give Workington a hard time with both looking to secure 5th and 6th spot. I'll predict for a draw there.

My heart says North Wales Crusaders, but my head says Cougars win. I hope we can run them close, but they're probably too strong for us.

Agreed, not sure if being back at Chester RU will be a help or hinderance, Erias stadium having the builders in. Much nearer for me, the only downside is turning right at the end of Hare Lane after the match - a right royal pain the nethermosts!

I think the Hurricanes v Town game will be the tightest of the fixtures this weekend. Good luck - but I hope both teams lose!

So maybe a draw with both teams suffering a points deduction for fielding ineligible players?

Would that work? 

Town at home is going to be a big test for us but I maybe fear Cornwall away more after today's game.

Thought it would be close but they were really close to winning it.

Anything you and Town can do to oblige...and get us into the top 6! 

We've got Cornwall as our last game - everyone seems to be improving and games are getting closer as the season comes to a close. Cornwall have been there or thereabouts in a few of their games and we'll not forget them beating us at Rhyl RUFC last season.

He was a contender for MOM with his strong carries in the middle which threatened the Workington line.

Brad Clavering got the award and deserved it but it was great to see us with real punch at the point of the attacking V and Jose was well up for it.

We'll see. Glad he's playing well. Never been far off selection. I hope we don't need to recall him. He's championship squad quality. Really like to see Hurricanes do well. Well run club that's recruited very well and well coached. More than happy to see players go on loan to your club. Be rooting for you in play offs.

Beating Town home and away tells you where we are now under the coaching team of Mark Dunning and Leigh Beattie. 

Previously at this stage - not wishing to disrespect those on the field / coaching - we would be moaning about another season ending with a whimper. Not this year. We're going to be in the play-offs, we're going to get promoted and I've already booked my hotel in Batley away for next year.

A decent enough performance by the Cru against a Keighley side that's second in the table and has only lost two game all season, to come back from 2-16 down at half time to lose 16-24 isn't bad going. The only thing for me was that I left feeling that with a bit more discipline ( although Keighley were no slouches in the mixing it department!) we might have just snuck a win. Never mind, what's done is done  - credit by the way to both teams in giving us a decent game in very hot and humid weather, they must have all been knackered at the finish.

Oh no; not another tinted glasses controversy?! 

We checked the scores on the way home after our game and you had just leveled it at 16-16. Thought you might be on a roll then to win it but not to be.

Rob Massam taken from the field with his face completely bashed up....apparently hes got a fractured cheek bone. Ref didn't even give a high shot - put it on report and played on! Two other incidents lead to Keighley having players in the bin for 10 minutes each...I'll leave you jump to your own conclusions!

Problem there is that without the multi angle relays that we get interminably in SL, at this level the officials can only give what they see in what's almost literally the blink of an eye - an analogy would be Billy Thompson's sending off of Syd Hines at Wembley. After seeing the video that Micron issued years later he reckoned that Murphy conned him. Lets hope it's not the end of Rob's career, I've seem some very nasty injuries (and helped carry some of them off the pitch) in my time and that one's up there with the worst of them.

I can't see Rob playing again....his injury will keep him out for the rest of this season and he was only back from retirement to finish off this year. A really nasty injury which hopefully will be picked up by the match review panel.
