Dewsbury this week

Recommended Posts

An absolute mammoth game this weekend and a must win. What are people's thoughts. ?

Cresta said Stack and Razor back so does that mean Pye will go back to Salford ? He has done really well in his 2 games and personally would like to keep him . A big asset.

Nerves starting already

Bit of a funny team Dewsbury, they clearly fall off the bus in the 2nd half ,saw a stat the other day that of the games they've lost ,they were leading 9/10 times at half time which is pretty bizarre, anyways hope that continues 😂

Unfortunately, that sounds like us as well. We're just as guilty of falling asleep in the 2nd half.

Why would he go back to Salford we've signed him on loan till the end of the season?

A must win no question about it.

Since when does a season long loan actually mean that ??? Harvey Makin is the obvious one...

The point I was trying to make was he was obviously covering for Ramon whilst he had an injury, so maybe he is not needed now if Ramon is back, as hinted by Cresta. ?

Why would he not be needed? You needed more than 1 prop! He's here until the end of the year and will be a big part of our squad. He isn't covering Ramon he's been brought in to make a difference and add to the squad which he has thankfully. Why would we return good players in a relegation run in who is going to be in the 17 every week? Not sure when cresta hinted he wasn't, ludicrous comments.

And a special relationship between the clubs, at least from our point of view. The last game at Crown Flatt and the first at Owl Lane were both against you - and we didn't lose either!

Safe journey to those travelling.

You didnt lose the last game at Crown Flatt Johnny but you should have lol. Referee admitted to me years after the game that he lost count of tackles on the very last set of the game and Dewsbury scored the equalising try in the final seconds on the EIGHTH tackle. I remember it being a great afternoon that day, loads of ex players there and a real end of an era. The famous old ground had seen better days and after the stand fell victim to arson the writing was always on the wall. The least said from a Barrow point of view of the opening match at the new ground, Dewsbury destroyed us with Les Holiday running riot. Do you remember it Vet???

Haha yes I do remember it Steve unfortunately , if I’m not mistaken in the 1st 5 minutes Phil ‘the school kid’ Everett scored under the sticks I kicked the conversation, Dewsbury kicked the restart out on the full so I nudged the penalty over from half way line then for the next 75 mins we got battered with Les Holliday running the show… it ended Dewsbury 70 something - Barrow 8 😂😂

Good two points and needed. Was a difficult listen at times but got the job done.

Swinton and Haven winning not ideal. Next week is massive, us at home to Swinton and Haven away to Dewsbury.

Fair play to Haven beating Doncaster with only 16 men far from ideal for us mind.

Phew.....nearly threw the game away after losing a 10 point lead against a very mediocre team with only 1 win out of 20.

Too many silly/stupid mistakes starting with Greenwood flattening the kicker in the 1st minute which resulted in a try and too many penalties, dropped balls and knock-ons throughout the game.

Dewsbury levelled the game late in the 2nd half when we gave them 3 consecutive sets inside our 10 metre line.

Thank God we have the best kicker in the league in Ryan Shaw and Brad Walkers drop-goal barely scrapped over the cross-bar to give us the win. I need a lie-down.

Given Swinton and Whitehaven pulled off 2 unexpected wins, means we haven't improved our league position against them, so our home games are MUST WIN Cup Finals.

From a Swinton's fan's point of view our trip to Barrow is a cup tie for both our teams - and it will be more interesting and nail biting than the Challenge Cup or should I call it the "entitled super league clubs cup"

Good luck as long as we win 🙂

You deserved the win on the basis of being the least poor team, and your spirit combined with two outstanding players sealed it.

My lot have served up some dross this season but that was scraping the bottom of the barrel, yet we could have won it. I reckon that both sets of supporters will be glad to see the end of this season.

My personal sadness is that I won't get the chance to visit your place again for some time - one of my favourite RL grounds and really friendly fans.

I don't expect to get picked HPB, so it is out of my hands.

Given the new coach at Haven, their result yesterday and if their players actually get some pay, I can see us extending our losing run right through to the season end.
