Looking forward to my first live game in 2025 , hopefully progress through to a money spinner against KR but I am expecting a tough battle.

Too true George, apart from our last visit, it's usually been a tough game there. I'm expecting that on Sunday.

Keighley are very much depleted by injuries and suspensions. For our game last week there was no Brad England, Lewis Hatton, Aaron Brown, Josh Lynam, Dan Parker, George Flanagan, Junior Sa'u, Brandon Pickersgill, Tane Bentley. I'm not sure if any of these will be available this weekend, hopefully Sa'u, Pickersgill and Flanagan are able to play. Then, to add to our early season woes, Mark Ioane picked up a 2 game ban, so he is now missing. That means the barring one player our whole pack is unavailable. We also have an aussie that was due over middle of January, but he hasn't appeared on any socials yet, so not sure what has happened there.

I expect it'll be a comfortable victory for York on Sunday.

Be a sad day when he finally calls it a day - one of the great characters of RL at any level over the last twenty seasons.

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

I know Keighley are League 1 and missing a couple of players but the Knights look a totally different class at half time, defensively they have been very solid, the middles are far too much for Keighley which is giving the backs the room to play. I just hope Keighley keep trying to play in the second half. Next week , should we get through this, will be a different proposition but you can only play what is in front of you.  If we can keep free of injuries I think we are looking pretty good going forward this season , a well balanced squad with a good mix of youth, older hands and experience. Levi is looking good after sch a long lay off.

Lots of positives, Buchanan looks a decent larker, Jesse looks better in the pack, Levi is like a new player, and good to have another goal kicking option.

Friday will let us know where we are for the upcoming season.

Well done all

Decent hit out,  apart from the two tries one a very soft effort the other an interception, a very good defensive display. Credit to Keighley they kept battling away and never gave up. Hope Levi is ok , saw he had a bit of strapping on at start of second half and limped off, Mash has to be happy with that.

the new guys look good, and great to see big Jack get over the whitewash.

Thought the pack were great today.. Fitz had a very good game in Amsterdam, he followed it up today even better - delighted. Always liked and rated him.

Martin looks like he’s now match fit and a potential superstar - given his pedigree he could be a worldy. Santi the usual class act and Teanby being a wrecking ball.

Thomo doing Thomo things which are SL class - pleased he was rested for large parts and I’m getting more impressed with Gannon - thought he was magnificent over at Halifax last year but he could be a player who very quietly makes us lots better.

Field played well as did McShane (still personally miss Daley - but the kicking thing McShane has is very decent, as are his other attributes). Nobody does what he has in the game if they’re not top class in skill set and attitude! Man of Steel for goodness sake!

Ata and Liam and all the backs were electric.

Reserving special mention for Jesse Dee - that fella is absolute granite - loved him at centre… love him in the back row… I’d love him anywhere on the field… such presence and toughness.

Let’s hope they’re all ok and do justice to themselves on Friday night.

Like others here, impressed with our first two hit outs, and looking forward to Friday night immensely. There's some good competition for starting spots, and the team looks to have hit exactly the same groove that it had at the back end of last season.

A quick shout for Sam Cook - a talented all-round baller. He's the obvious choice for HB cover this year, and I'm really enjoying him moving from dummy half to first receiver during his interchange stints, effectively giving us an extra half-back in attack. Hendo on The Sportsman broadcast was also v. impressed by one of his defensive hits 😀
