Welcome Lucy. Have fun.

And… congratulations on sparking this forum’s most positive thread yet.

That you, @Superb Chops! I aim to be positive until at least Wednesday, when the Job Search despair kicks in 😄

Just happy to be here!

Welcome Lucy and enjoy!

I think Wakefield are on the up generally so could be a good time to hop on board with them this year!

This board is full of opinions but on the whole people are fair and there’s a wide range of viewpoints to engage with plus its moderated well to keep things from getting out of hand or too heated and personal.

There’s another regular poster on here from East Anglia so not the only one there!

Ah sorry yes it’s @Eddie

I’m a Saints fan which had been a pretty easy job for some time, although I inherited them through family and started supporting at a time when Wigan were going through their glory years.

I’m really not sure what to expect this year as a good team has grown old together, but am looking forward to it all the same.

I hope one day to be able to have the time and money to see a game, but until that day I must enjoy from a far

They don't get many fans and are always giving out free tickets to try get people through the door.

If you write to the club sure they will give you some free.

Thought so!

Ah yes, inheritance of sports teams - a blessing or a curse depending on the time and circumstance!

Do you have much young blood coming through your academy?

It's not necessary the ticket price themselves - they seem modest especially compared to top-tier association football sides; but the time and money to get the train up. Once I get a job, I'll plan to see a game before season's end.

Yes, and that has to be the hope really although we’ve also acquired Kyle Feldt from the Queensland Cowboys and Tristan Sailor from the Brisbane Broncos.  Feldt been a good winger over there and Sailor will come in at halves I think.

Out of the young lads, there’s a crop coming through it seems (as ever luckily for Saints) including Harry Robertson and George Delaney.  Others like Noah Stephens, George Whitby and Owen Dagnall have just penned new contracts and are thought of highly by Saints.

Not forgetting the Saints players already here, lead by Jack Welsby in status, it’ll be a case of finding the right blend and how people develop given an opportunity. There’ll be keener Saints fans than me who can talk more about the prospects ditto the NRL fans on here on the three coming in.

Personally I think we’re in transition, but being Saints the standards are very high despite this to be really competitive especially as Wigan are very strong again at this time.
