5 million pound grant has been given for development of Little Wembley.

From Latics message board, something to do with this?

Very much doubt it. Would hardly be 'the biggest news since Watersheddings days'

If we are getting involved in any new facility being built, I'd guess it would be our own stadium.

Getting our own stadium would be amazing and a  "big announcement" !!  .... , but we have a lease at BP and the council invested £1m in a new pitch to accomodate both teams ? .... and I can't see what Little Wembley has to do with ORLFC  ?

??????????????  🧐

If it's a council grant you'd imagine it would benefit both Oldham clubs as the grant for the pitch did, however Im scratching my head as to what both clubs would use Little Wembley for other than a training facility which we don't really need given the upgrades to Melrose.

Could it possibly be a small stadium for academy & womens teams?

Anyone got anymore information on what to expect as the big announcement next Monday. Like waiting for Christmas, can't wait 🤞

Is it me or is our press release as clear as mud? Permanent home? On what basis? Great that the BP site is getting investment (little wembley, the main stadium, cricket pitch?) but not sure why this is exciting for us as renters. Any ideas? Perhaps I just need more coffee.

The general press releases states, 'The council is initiating the project with a £5m investment from a recent £20m allocation to the borough through the government's Community Regeneration Fund. It comes after the council's £1m investment into Boundary Park last year for resurfacing works and to create a permanent home for Oldham RLFC'. The pitch investment didn't create a permanent home for the rugby as we signed a 10 year lease. However, Bill's comments today refers to a permanent home as well. I'm confused. Anyone?
