Futtocks
Two tracks into Lindsey Buckingham's new album 'Gift of Screws' and I have a warning. If you are a budding guitarist who isn't confident about how your technique is coming on, do NOT listen to this CD! You will be found, some days later, curled up in the fioetal position, sucking your thumb and with your brain dribbling out of your ears. Leeds Wire
The Wedding Present - George Best Dave Gedge is a 50 year old Adolsecent... Ah, the Weddoes... such under-rated music and yet unknowingly copied by a thousand bands in the last 5 years or so. George Best is an album which just never sounds dated and remains in my top 5 or so of all time. I even used to have the t-shirt which said "All the songs sound the same". They are coming home on 16 December by the way, near the end of their latest UK tour. http://scopitones.co.uk/news/tours

John Drake
I've been listening to the new Queen & Paul Rodgers album, The Cosmos Rocks. I'm not sure what I think about it yet. It isn't what I expected. .
Futtocks
I've been listening to the new Queen & Paul Rodgers album, The Cosmos Rocks. I'm not sure what I think about it yet. It isn't what I expected. Like the imminent return of 'I'm sorry, I haven't a Clue' and 'The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy', this just seems all wrong. Haven't heard the album, though, so this is no comment on the music; just the underlying idea. "We are easily breakable, by illness or falling, or a million other ways of leaving this earthly life. A woman called Magnusson though, that just sounds wrong. Surely she should be Ann Magnusdottir? "Coming from East Hull people automatically think you should go and play for Hull KR. Ullman
The new Metallica album Death Magnetic. a return to form of sorts, and currently streaming for free on their website. I've not really listened to anything else all week. I really didn't think they had another great album in them, but it's an outstanding piece of work IMO.
