hindle xiii Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 I wouldn't call anyone who crosses the whitewash soft. Agreed, although I would say 'some fellas aren't as tough as others'!
deluded pom? Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Silverwood, Child, Ganson, Bentham, etc? All of 'em would have you stood in a corner of the room cowering.
giwildgo Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 All of 'em would have you stood in a corner of the room cowering. Having had the pleasure of sharing a room with three of the aforementioned I seriously doubt it. oderint dum metuant

Dave T Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 McGuire no contest No chance! I have so much respect for the little blokes who get knocked around week in week out by players 4 and 5 stone heavier than them.
terrywebbisgod Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 The young Gleeson kid at Wakey, no bottle whatsoever. Thank you for your valuable contribution.
widnesvikings Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Give over. It's impossible to compare eras and I don't think anyone who plays RL is soft, at all. didnt say they were soft these forwards might be fitter now but none could live with the boyds tamatis mills sorensons, nicholases etc WIDNES VIKINGS CHESHIRES MOST FAMOUS RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB
HappyDave Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) How do you know? You don't...it's all supposition. We know there were hard cases in RL then, just as there is now. Apparently the likes of Morley & Senior are pussycats compared to 70s & 80s RL players... Yeah, right! There may be less biff or dirty players as there used to be but the physicallity of top level/elite Rugby League these days is brutal. Some people say the hits in the NRL are much bigger that SL but I don't think any of us would last 20 minutes in an SL game. KNIGHTS2009 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 No one i have the highest amount of respect possible for everyone who plays RL no matter who they are,who they play for and what level. Softest player in SL nobody because they play the game.

Softest player in SL nobody because they play the game. couldn't agree more, playing rugby league these days is a very brave thing to do. with regards to some players from yester year being a thug doesn't make somone tough or hard (not saying some weren't) "surely they've got to try somthing different now, maybe the little chip over the top?2 http://www.flickr.com/photos/stufod/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stuarts-photography/156268557729980
Wiltshire Rhino Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I don't think the average person would last 5 minutes. Seriously. Happy Dave isn't your average person! 2014 Challenged Cup Winner

boxhead Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Boyd - Warrington Tamati - Warrington Mills - Widnes Sorensen - Widnes Nicholas - Warrington Is it me or is there a bit of a theme here? Is it the water in Cheshire that makes players 'ard? 3 of those players were imports so I doubt the water had much to do with it. Edited July 25, 2010 by AndyCapp
