Mr Plow
Not quite halfway through the season yet but how good are London Skolars doing? I don’t think anyone expected them to be challenging
Marauder
Out of the blocks fast but only won one and drawn one out of their last 5 games. Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits. http://www.pitchero....hornemarauders/
Damien
Were Newcastle not favourites at the start of the season? They seem to be underperforming a little.
JonM
Second but with a negative points difference, courtesy of conceding loads against Newcastle and thirty-odd at Oldham and three narrow wins.

I must admit when I saw Newcastle's squad I thought they would dominate this division. Keal Carlile, Misi Taulapapa, Alex Rowe, Remy Marginet (and Liam Finn at the start of the season) looked like the type of players you'd see in a decent Championship team. Another illustration that games aren't played on paper.
Cumbrian Fanatic
I don't think anyone was tipping any of the present top 3, names that seemed to be getting mentioned at the start of the season were Newcastle, Oldham and Workington 100% League 0% Union Just because I don't know doesn't mean I don't understand
fevtom
Also worth noting Keighley would be top of the league if they hadn’t had a points deduction. Probably not enough games in this division to come back from a 12 point deduction but if they could sneak a play off place that would be quite something. It's doable but not much room for dropped points. The next three games of Newcastle away, Oldham at home and Hunslet away could make or break our chances. Especially as they have a deep squad courtesy of an Academy. Keighley, Hunslet and Whitehaven at home are 3 of the next 4 games. Followed by Donny away. Will know much more then.
